Daugharty, Mattie L. -97, of Louisville, died Sunday at Whitesburg ARH. She was a native of Appalachia, Al., a retired domestic and a member of the Cross Baptist Church. Survivors include seven sons, the Rev. Paul Daugharty, Jr., Jim E. Daugharty and Sharon, The Rev. R.L. Daugharty and Queen Esther, the Rev. Donald R. Daugharty and Brenda, Kenneth R. Daugharty, Sr.  and Bonnie, William E. Daugharty and Bonita, Anthony R. Daugharty and Annette; three daughters, Gloria Yoskmetics, Daisy L. Green and Mary E. Higgins and Edward; 60 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday at the Cross Baptist Church with burial in Louisville Cemetery. Daugherty, Colleen Cathy Ritchie -213 Lamond Ruelle, Winchester, Kentucky, the wife of Jerry Y. Daugherty, passed away on Sunday morning, March 16, at their home.  At the time of her death, she was sixty-two years of age. A native of Hindman, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Bertha Conley Ritchie.  Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Warren.  She was a retired Registered Nurse and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Winchester. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jerry Lynn and husband Steve Dennis of Bourbon County; one granddaughter, Natalie Elena Colleen Dennis also of Bourbon County; one sister, Sylvia Sidney Rowland of Las Vegas, NV; six brothers, Alan Ladd Ritchie of Fountain, Colorado, Chadwick Oneal Ritchie of Lexington, Newell Graden Ritchie of Zionsville, Indiana, Elwood Ritchie of Lexington, Winfield Ritchie of Lexington and Sidney "Tucson" Ritchie, Jr.; two aunts, Kathern Fugate of Fisty and Bell Ritchie of Michigan; one niece, Trischa Colleen Mallory of Panama City Beach, Florida, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, March 18, at the Scobee Funeral Home, West Lexington Avenue, Winchester, Kentucky, where the funeral service was conducted on Wednesday morning, March 19, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jessie Kline officiating.  The burial was at the North Middletown Cemetery. He is preceded in death by two brothers:  Henry and Jee Davis. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Davis; sons  Jesse Ray and Charlotte Davis, Ricky Lynn Davis and Donald Gene Davis; sister  Barbara Oliver; brothers Billy Dunk Davis and Manuel R. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Willis Anderson, Arch Collins and Beechie Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Day; daughter Delana Rae Day; sister Rhonda Neace; grandparents Oma Johnson and Genova Collins. He is survived by 1 daughter: Jada Marie Deaton; 2 brothers: Earl Deaton Jr. & Roy Lee Deaton both of Hazard; 3 sisters: Sherry Lynn Shelton of Fisty, Rita Kaye Feltner of Acup, & Sharlette Faye Miller of Scuddy; and a host of family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister: Freda Ann Deaton. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 3, 2010, at 12 noon at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman with Eli Smith & Charles Ed Smith officiating.  Burial followed at the Fisty Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman.

He was a lifelong resident of Perry County, the son of the late Clyde Deaton and the late Ruby Napier Dickerson. By occupation he was a truck driver. One of his hobbies included working on his truck. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Deaton and Ruby Napier Dickerson; and his step-mother: Francis Deaton. Deaton, B. Paul -73 of Bowling Green, died Wednesday at his residence. The Buckhorn, Kentucky native was a son of the late Logan Deaton and Mary Ellen Sebastian Deaton. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifton Deaton, Logan Deaton, Jr., and Melvin Deaton; and two sisters, Vesta Burnette and Thelma Buckner. Mr. Deaton was a graduate of Hazard High School in Hazard, Kentucky where he was a member and Exhausted Rooster in the Hazard, Kentucky Jaycees. He spent seventeen years working with GMAC and retired from Health Services, DHR in Frankfort, Kentucky after twenty-one years of service. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a life long University of Kentucky sports fan and attended Hillvue Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Deaton was greatly loved by his family, whom he deeply cared for; he loved his pets very much and truly enjoyed Western Movies. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104 or to Hillvue Heights Baptist Church, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101. She is preceded in death by her husband,  Midas Deaton; sons Donald Gene and Carl Deaton; grandson Bobby Lee Noble, Jr.  and a host of brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters Trixie  Holmes, Wilma Ching, Shirley Merrill, Pauline Noble Taulbee and Martha Pearl  Deaton; sons Dexter Deaton, Rowland Deaton and Jimmy Deaton; 12 grandchildren,  20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Deaton, Michael Lloyd -born May 24, 1972,  departed this life on Monday, September 22 at the Holston Valley Medical Center  in Kingsport, Tn. He was 36 years, three months and 28 days of age at the time  of his passing. He was born in Hazard, the son of Arnett Deaton and  Pauletta Saylors Deaton. He was a life long resident of Perry County and a  member of Johnson United Baptist Church in Buckhorn. Dehart, Dora Farler -91, of Liberty Township, OH went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Farler, KY on March 14, 1917 to parents W. B. and Mary (Fields) Farler. Dora was a home maker, a founding member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, the most important part of her life occurred when she gave her heart to the Lord in October 1958, she was a very active member of the church where she had formerly served as WMU Director and taught Sunday School. Dora loved to talk and witness to others about Christ and did so until her dying day. She was a member of DAR and was a Kentucky Colonel. She has written several books on genealogy and about her mountain heritage of which she was very proud. Her family was very important to her and is a devoted mother and grandmother she is survived by a son Michael (Robyn) DeHart, two daughters; Wonette (Hayse) Baker, Wilma (Robert) McGuire, three sisters; Alice Spurlock, Lea (Mike) Floyd, Jewell Henisor, three brothers Carl (Betty) Farler, Robert ( Hattie) Farler, Albert (Betty) Farler , 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Taylor DeHart in 1994. Funeral services September 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Monroe, OH. Revs. Dave Hill and Bill Liston officiating. Visitation September 25, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. ( At Bonita Dr.) Interment at Mound Cemetery. DeHart, Jake  88, of Wallingford, KY, formerly of Buford, died March 25, 2006 in Georgetown, OH. He was a World War II Army veteran, receiving five Bronze Stars, worked 30 years at General Motors in Dayton and was a member of Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. Mr. DeHart was born October 31, 1919 in Viper, KY, the son of the late Abraham and Anner Smith DeHart. He was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, William DeHart, Edward DeHart, Millard DeHart, Ralph DeHart, Andrew DeHart, Sherman DeHart, Branson DeHart, Caleb DeHart, Oma Hamilton and Mary DeHart; one grandson and one great-granddaughter. She was 91  years, five months and six days of age at the time of her passing. She  was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Henry Burton and the late  Sarah Fields Burton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hargis Eldridge  and Thomas Dixon; sons Ellis, Bob and Billy Eldridge; grandson Larry Eldridge,  Jr. and a host of brothers and sisters. Dobson, Mrs. Carolyn -the wife of Elmer Dobson, passed away at their home in Avawam on Saturday, February 2.  Mrs. Dobson was born on June 3, 1950, the daughter of the late John D and Norma Fields Stacy.  At the time of her death, she was 57 years of age.  Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Murrel Hensley.  Mrs. Dobson, a lifelong resident of Perry County worked in housekeeping at the Hazard A.R.H., and she was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church. Along with her husband, Mrs. Dobson is survived by two sons, Brian Scott Dobson of Avawam and Eddie Earl Dobson of Bean Station, Tennessee.  She is also survived by a brother, Edward Stacy of Michigan and a sister, Sybil O'Neal of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Her surviving grandchildren are Haley Leann Dobson, Johnna Simone Dobson and Braden Scott Dobson. The family received friends on Monday evening, February 4, at the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel on Morton Blvd. where the funeral service was conducted on Tuesday morning with Dr. Daryl Jessie officiating.  The burial took place at the Engle Cemetery at Dwarf.All arrangements were entrusted to the staff of the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel. Dobson, Cornia -born June 19, 1917, departed this life on Thursday, October 16 at the Hazard Nursing Home. She was 91 years, three months and 127 days of age at the time of her passing. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Astor Dobson; daughter Joyce Smith and a host of brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Carl Dobson and wife Lindsay of Lotts Creek and Freddy Grubbs and wife April of Lotts Creek; daughter Phoebe Montgomery of Lotts Creek and son-in-law Sherman Smith of West Liberty; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and others relatives and friends. Doughman, Grace Rice -the widow of John Henry Doughman, a resident of Whitesburg and a former resident of Gays Creek, passed away on Sunday, February 3, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  She was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Douglas Day Post #152 in Whitesburg.  Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Rice and Minnie Gay, her son, Leon Thibodeau, a step-daughter, Nancy Weidenbormer, two grandchildren, Phillip Crank and John Doughman; brothers, Walter, Thomas, Jr., Roy Wilson and Claude Rice and sisters, Opal Begley, Orpha Riley and Emma Bowling. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Begley and husband Lee Crank;  her sons, Paul and wife Charlene Begley, Howard and wife Brenda Begley and Wesley Doughman; her sisters, Nell Raleigh and Virgie Gay and her grandchildren, Leon Crank, Jr., Greg Crank, Richard Crank, Wesley Crank, John-Paul Begley, Justin Begley, Wayne Begley, Cynthia Action, Kim Tinney, Whitley Doughman and Dave LeHart.  Along with a host of other relatives and friends, she is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren .The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, February 6, from 11:00 AM until noon at the Maggard Brothers Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted at noon today with Rev. Charles Raleigh and Bishop Willie Lamb officiating.  Interment will be at the Government Cemetery in Buckhorn. All arrangements have been entrusted to the staff at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home. Duff, Thad Colson  ~  born September 26, 1947 departed  this life on February 14 at the Cabell Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He  was 61 years, 4 months, and 18 days old. Thad was born at Hazard,  Kentucky, the son of the late Thad Steven Duff and Edna Hacker Duff. Thad was a  veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Army and attended Eastern Kentucky  University. He was a certified real estate appraiser and land agent. Thad was a  member of the of the Kentucky certified real estate appraisers and was a former  Jay-Cee. He was a member of the Bowman Memorial Methodist Church, Hazard, Ky.  Thad had spent his formative years and most of his adult life in Perry County.  He had been a resident of Prestonsburg, Ky., for 14 years at the time of his  death. Mr. Thad Colson Duff was preceded in death by his parents: Thad Steven  Duff and Edna Hacker Duff and one brother, Christopher Robin “Greek” Duff. Mr.  Thad Colson Duff leaves the following relatives surviving: one son, Thad Steven  Duff of Hazard, Ky., two daughters, Laura Roberts and husband, Bill of  Monticello, Ky., Gretchen Leigh Ping and husband, Allan of Richmond, Ky., two  sisters, Mary Ellen Gibson and husband, Steve Allen of Harrodsburg, Ky., Dixie  Wood Martin of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, six grandchildren, Grant Keaton  Roberts, Reagan Elizabeth Roberts, Andrew Foster Ping, Madeline Grace Ping, Noah  Howard Ping, William Thomas Ping, and a host of other treasured relatives and  friends to mourn his death. The funeral service for Mr. Thad Colson Duff  was conducted at 12 Noon, Tuesday, February 17 from the chapel of the Engle -  Walker Funeral Home, 301 East Main Street, Hazard, Ky., with Robert Terry  officiating. Friends called for visitation on Monday, February 16, 2009, from 6  - 9:00 p.m. at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home. Dupree, Mr. Kenneth R. ~ 82 of Madisonville, Ky. passed  away Wednesday, December 10 at Regional Medical Center in  Madisonville. He was born September 4, 1926, in Vicco to the late Clifton  Dupree (1981) and Ethel Dupree (2004). He was also preceded in death by is wife  Rita Sexton (1993), three brothers, Jim Dupree (1998); Bill Dupree (1996); and  Dino Dupree
(1995). Mr. Dupree was a coal mine inspector/trainer for the  Department of Mines and Minerals. He was also a member of the E.W. Turner #548  Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his brother, Tom (Zula) Dupree of  Madisonville; several nieces and nephews and his caretakers, Edna Gamblin and  Debbie Guy. Funeral  services were held  Saturday, December 13 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home  with Pastors Darrell Menser and Keith Harris officiating. Burial will follow Odd  Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Friends called on Friday from and on  Saturday from noon until the service time at the funeral  home. Pallbearers were Andy Gamblin, Mike Guy, Ronnie Guy, Tim Maulding,  Terry Lawrence, Jeff Rodgers, Allen Dupree and Mitchell Dupree. Memorial  contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
