Eaton, Rhoda Fugate ~ age 68, passed away March 19, 2009 at the Patriot Ridge Nursing Home. She was born March 30, 1940 in Ary (Perry County), KY to the late Jim X and Lillie (Williams) Fugate. Rhoda was a 1959 graduate of the Breathitt County High School, where she played the flute in the band. Rhoda worked at the Micro Chart in New Carlisle and the Spectro Physics in Huber Heights for a number of years. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Frank Fugate, and sister Dorothy White. Rhoda is survived by her loving husband John Eaton of Huber Heights, OH, son Greg (Becky) Eaton of Brookville, OH, grandchildren; David and Justin Schmitt of Brookville and Chelsea Eaton of Franklin, OH and Tyler Eaton of Brookville, great-grandchildren Gracie and JJ Schmitt, brothers; Odell (Alice) Fugate of Dayton, OH, Haven (Dove) and Ode (Mary) Fugate, sisters; Ethel (Sid) Bennett and Jean (Bobby) Barnett all of KY, a host of nieces and nephews, sister and brother- in-law Mary Fugate and Don White both of KY. Eldridge, Charlie ~ born February 20, 1927,  departed this life on Thursday, March 26. He was 82 years of age at the time of  his passing. He was born in Poll’s Creek, Ky., the son of the late  Hizzie Eldridge and Mary Wells Eldridge. Charlie was a member of the Poll’s  Creek Church of Christ. He worked for Franklin Electric building electric motors  and was a WWII veteran serving as a Military Policeman receiving the Army of  Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by  his parents, Hizzie and Mary Eldridge; his wife Sadie Combs Eldridge; son  Michael Dennis Eldridge, brothers Monroe Cody, Henry, Elmer, and Everett  Eldridge, and sister Liza Shepherd. He is survived by sons Hizzie  Eldridge of Coalmont, Tn. and Charlie Eldridge, Jr. of Berne, In.; daughters  Mary Eldridge Quakenbush of Montpelier, In.
and Evelyn Eldridge of Smilax, Ky.;  brother Willie Eldridge of Bristol, Ct.; sister Dovie Eldridge of Willisburg,  Ky.; half-sisters Lucille Eldridge of
Oxford, Oh. and Shirley Kintner of  Bartles, Ok.; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great  grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and  friends. Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Eldridge were held at  Engle-Walker Perry Co. Chapel on 320 Morton Blvd, Hazard, Ky. on Saturday, March  28 with Jr. Shell officiating. Elkins, Mabel Irene -born March 1, 1925, departed this life on Friday, October 17 at the Hazard Nursing Home. She was 83 years, seven months, and 16 days of age at the time of her passing. She was born at Rowdy, the daughter of the late Sam Allen and the late Callie Campbell Allen. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Elkins; brothers Therman, Cleveland and Herman Allen; sisters Plina Combs, Surrilda Edwards, Stella Napier and Lillie Newman. She is survived by her son, Samuel David Elkins and wife Linda of Rowdy; sisters Bertha Napier of Rowdy and Elizabeth Harrison of Englewood, Ohio, granddaughter Cheryl Daniel and husband Steve of Harlan and grandson John David Elkins and wife Linda of Busy; great grandchildren Stephen Allen, David, Matthew and Dylan and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 20 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Eldon Miller and Donald Blair officiating. Engle, Billy M. ~ age 46 of Franklin, OH passed away May 14, 2009. Billy was born in Hazard KY. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon P. Engle. He is survived by his wife Tina, mother Dorothy Engle of Franklin, a daughter Asia Huddleson of CA, stepsons Joseph (Shayla) Mullins and Michael (Tiffney) Mullins, stepdaughter Kristin Mullins, brother Rick Engle and a sister Kimberly (Rick) Leach. 6 grandchildren. Engle, Goldia Gayhart -who was born on September 26, 1925, at Lotts Creek, departed this life on Thursday, January 31, at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center.  The widow of Palmer Engle, she was 82 years of age at the time of her death.  Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, William M. "Bill' and Mae Smith Gayhart. Mrs. Engle received a bachelor degree in English and Library Science.  She was retired from the Perry County Board of Education after having taught in that system for 37 years.  She was a member of the Retired Teacher of Perry County and the Lotts Creek Evangelical Free Church. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Gay Engle and husband Timothy Cody of Hazard; three sisters-in-law, Erma Dean David Engle of Red Oak, Kentucky, Abrelia Engle Murphy of Nashville, Tennessee and Caroline Rushing Engle of Houghton, Louisiana.  Her surviving grandchildren are Tiffany Amelia Cody and husband Dustin Manis Owens and Taran Victoria Cody and fiancé Joshua Randal Holland.  She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Saturday evening, February 2, at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home where the funeral service was conducted on Sunday afternoon with Rev. Mitch Fields, Rev. Orlo Fisher and Rev. Howard Owens officiating.  The burial took place in the Gayhart-Smith Cemetery at Lotts Creek. All arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Engle-Walker Funeral Home. Estep, Lonnie -69, of Vicco, died Wednesday, September 17 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was retired from the vocational school. He was the son of the late Bill Estep and Bridie Marcum. He is survived by sisters Carolyn and Manuel Grace of Vicco and Mary and James Vancleve of Florence, Ky. and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard where the family receive friends on Saturday, September 20. The funeral service immediately followed with Glenn Noe officiating. Interment was at Defiance Cemetery located at Happy, Ky.

Eversole, Alfred ~ born January 4, 1941, departed  this life on December 26 at the age of 65 years, 12 months and 22  days. He was the son of the late Irvin and Zona (Stacy) Eversole. By  occupation, he was retired from the Wonder Bread Bakery in 1995 after 30 years  of service. He was also a member of the National Muzzleloader's Association. Mr.  Alfred Eversole is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Sandra  Kay
Fields Eversole. He leaves behind the following relatives: wife Phyllis C. Eversole; daughter Lynette Dawn Mullins of Charlottesville, In.; son Gary 
Eversole and step-son Jonathon Thompson both of Ingalls; grandsons Ryan Wayne Mullins and Aaron Bradley Mullins; siblings Sally Whitaker of Big Creek, Ky.,  Betty Eversole of Corbin, Ky., Vernon Eversole and Wanda of Hazard, Ky., Brenda and Danny Campbell of Williamsburg, Ky., Clarence C. Eversole and Darlene of  Big  Creek, Ky., and Launa Morris and Reed of Big Creek, Ky.. He is also survived by  a host of other friends and relatives. The funeral services for Mr.  Alfred Eversole were held on Tuesday December 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the  Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel. Eversole, Carl Wayne -age 58, of Ezel, Ky., died Friday, June 6 at the Morgan County ARH. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Grethell. Mr. Eversole is survived by his daughter, Natasha Eversole; sons Jessie Michael Eversole, Carl Wayne Eversole, Jr., Kevin Russell Eversole and Taite Eversole; sisters Lorine Feltner, Lillian Sparkman, Charlotte Feltner, Gloria Tartaglia, Nina Price, Janet Lowe, Judy Eversole and Karlin Dimarcello; and brothers Roger Eversole, Michael Eversole and Jessie Eversole. Eversole, Jack -75, of Howe, In., died Sunday, November  16 at Goshen General Hospital, Goshen, In. Mr. Eversole had lived in  LaGrange County since 1962, coming from Kentucky. He had worked for Supreme  Corporation in Goshen for 22 years and also at Lane Foundry in  Kendallville. Mr. Eversole was born on October 13, 1933 in Hardburly, Ky.  to Irven and Nora (Valentine) Eversole. On April 24, 1971 in LaGrange he married  Wanda Burkey. Mrs. Eversole survives in Howe. Also surviving are two  daughters and two sons and their spouses, Ricky and Cathy Eversole of Mishawaka,  In., Dawn Murphy of Stroh, In., William and Alicia Eversole of Coldwater, Mi.,  and Lori and Bobby Eversole-Barnefske of Howe, In.; thirteen grandchildren;  seven great-grandchildren; three sisters Mildred “Butch” Shepherd of Franklin,  Oh., Ena McAtee of Williamstown, Ky., and Freda Silvius of Granger, In.; a  sister-in-law Jimmie Nell Eversole of Enon, Oh.; and several nieces and  nephews. Preceding  him in death were his parents; a brother, James Eversole; and two brothers who  died as infants, J.W. and Billy Eversole.
Funeral services were held on  Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange,  with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery,  LaGrange.Visitation was on Thursday, November 20 at the funeral  home. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or American Heart  Association.

Eversole, John - of Vicco, the husband of Yvone Eversole,  passed away on Saturday, March 8, at the Hazard A.R. H. Hospital.  The time of his death, he was sixty-nine years of age.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Debby Williams Eversole. Along with his widow, he is survived by his daughter, Jenette Eversole, one sister, Rebecca Jean Campbell; three brothers, Dock Eversole, David Eversole and Homer Eversole.  He is also survived two special nephews, Willie and Curt Cornett. The family received friends on Tuesday evening, March 11, at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home where the funeral service was conducted on Wednesday morning, March 12, at 11:00 AM with James Cornett and Billy Ray Eversole officiating.  Interment was at the Combs Cemetery, Second Creek. Eversole, Mary Elizabeth -43, of Busy, died Thursday, September 18 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late William Stidham and the late Magdalene Couch. She is survived by her daughter, April Eversole; son William Todd Eversole; sisters Helen Eversole, Shirley Stidham and Telvis Huff; aunts Mae Haddix and Dicie Sizemore; and uncle Matthew Couch. She is also survived by five step brothers, two step sisters, one niece, one nephew and three grandchildren. Eversole, Opal (Begley) -88, of Eaton, Ohio and formerly of Chavies, Ky., passed away Monday, August 25 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 17, 1920 in Doorway, Ky. to the late Amerida and Minta (Gay) Begley. She was a lifelong member of the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, elder and choir member. She was a retired elementary educator and guidance counselor for the Perry County and Hazard City School Systems with over 45 years of service. She was a member of the Booneville Chapter #446 Order of Easter Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jesse Elmer Eversole, Sr. who passed away January 20, 2002; and brothers William, Ira. J. and Reed Begley.  She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Jim Donovan of Eaton, Meridythe and Wallace McLeane of Naples, Fl., and Deborah and George Stellings of Pawleys Island, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law Jesse E. and Susan Eversole, Jr. of Chapel Hill, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law Jeanette and Stephen Napier of Chavies, Maureen and Wayne Hymer of Berea, Norma Hurley Begley; grandchildren Kathryn  and Jim Myers of Westerville, Ohio, Allison and Mark Woodruff of Naples, Fl., J.E. Donovan and Melissa of Columbus, Ohio, Sarah Stellings of Pawleys Island, Ann Ogrosky of Atlanta, Ga., Alex and Lee Eversole of Chapel Hill, Sarah Lord of Chapel Hill , and Eleanor and Richard Wilson of Greenville N.C.; great grandchildren Andrew Woodruff, Jolie and Cassandra Myers, Jacob and Matilda Donovan; and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation was held Thursday, August 28 at the Gurton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home in Eaton, Ohio. The funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 30 at the Buckhorn Lake Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Timothy Jesse (former minister) and Revs. Gayle and Tom Burns officiating. Visitation was also held at the church on Saturday. Burial took place in Napier Family Cemetery in Chavies.
