Ison, Donnie -the husband of Charlene Ison, passed away at their residence in Cornettsville on Friday, February 8.  At the time of his death, Mr. Ison was 68 years of age. Along with his wife, he is survived by their son, Ricky Ison of London, Kentucky, and his surviving siblings are Jeanette Asbury and Condalee Bloomfield, both of Tennessee, Claudette Young, Wilbur Ison and Doug Ison, all residents of Indiana, and Print Island, Jr. of Viper.  Along with his close family members, he is also survived by a host of friends and other relatives. The family received friends on Sunday and Monday evenings, February 10 and 11, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Cornettsville where the funeral service was conducted on Tuesday afternoon, February 12, at 1:00 PM with Robbie Delph and Danny Dixon officiating. The burial was at the Arch Halcomb Cemetery in Cornettsville. All arrangements were entrusted to the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper.

Ison, Mrs. Orkie -a resident of Slemp, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center.  At the time of her death, Mrs. Ison was 87 years of age.  The daughter of the late Jack and Corie Halcomb, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Ison. Mrs. Ison is survived by her sons, Dwight and Gary Lynn Ison, both of Slemp.  Her surviving siblings are Johnnie Hibbard and Mary Ann Creech, both of Slemp, Arnie "Bug" Campbell and Joyce Eversole, both of Indiana, Evalee Bowling of Vicco, Jasper Halcomb of Delphia and Russell Halcomb of Lexington.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Mrs. Ison's family received friends on Friday evening, February 1, at the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home in Viper.  The funeral service was conducted on Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at the Big Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church in Cornettsville.  The burial was at the Halcomb Cemetery in Cornettsville. All arrangements were entrusted to the staff of Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home of Viper.
