Jeffers, Wilda Sexton -age 83 of Fairborn, OH passed away May 1, 2008 in the Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 14, 1924 in Domino, KY, the daughter of the late William and Elzira (Combs) Sexton. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Wilda cherished flowers and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. She also had a passion for cooking and was known for her famous pies. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, USAF TSgt. (Ret.) Don Jeffers in 1989. She is survived by four daughters, Darlene (Dave) Proctor of Kettering, OH, Donnelle (Gary) Martin of Fairborn, OH, Geniveve (Mike) Barber of Ft. Worth, TX, Pamela Gondek of Dayton, OH; four grandchildren, Brent Proctor of Kettering, Jeff Gondek and fianc Angel Jackson of Columbus, OH, Erin Proctor of Cincinnati, OH, Allison Gondek of Dayton; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Olivia Proctor of Kettering; a brother, Rothwell (Sally) Sexton of Vandalia, OH; as well as her two loving cats, Max and Ernie. Wilda's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Dayton for the loving care they provided. The family will receive friends on May 4, 2008 from 4 until 6 p.m. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Jent,  Pearlie -of Vicco passed away on Wednesday, February 13, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  At the time of her death, she was 80 years of age.  She was the daughter of the late John and Laura Combs Jent.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Jent and four sisters, Leona Steward, Shirley Jent, Frankie Sumner and Mae Combs. Her surviving siblings are Eva Jean Jent, Phebia Williams and Billy Joe Jent, all of Vicco, John Jent, Jr. and Patricia Jent, both of Knott County, Glenn Jent of Morgan County, Gordon Jent of Ohio, Anita Campbell of Letcher County and Rosa Lee Jent of Happy.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Friday evening, February 15, at the Vicco Baptist Church where the funeral service was conducted on Saturday morning, February 16, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Johnson, Mrs. Geneda -born May 22, 1963, departed this  life on Friday, October 3 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. She was 45 years,  four months and 11 days of age at the time of her passing. She was born  in Hyden, the daughter of Elbert Colwell and Joyce Eversole Colwell. She was a  life-long resident of Perry County and was a member of the Church of  Christ. She leaves the following relatives surviving: husband Charlie  Johnson of Busy; parents Elbert and Joyce Colwell of Busy; sons David Elbert  Turner of Busy; Kelly Dwayne Turner of Busy and Calvin Stidham of Avawam;  daughter Rose Marie Turner of Busy; brother Clifford Colwell of Busy; sisters  Rowena Colwell of Busy and four grandchildren, Kimberly, Angel, Kayla and  Leeann. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and  friends. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 6 at the Big  Willard Church of Christ with Carl Wayne Johnson officiating. Johnson, Leon - of La Follette, Tennessee, and a former resident of Hazard, passed away on Saturday, February 16, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in LaFollette.    He had retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, after thirty years of service to the automobile manufacturer.  Mr. Johnson, the husband of Sylvia Jeanette Johnson, was a Mason, Shriner and a U.S. Army Veteran. The son of the late Thomas and Lillie Raleigh Johnson, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Clemmings and two brothers, Jack and Jesse Johnson. Along with his wife, he is survived by his  daughter, Theresa (Kip Slone) Johnson; two sons, Tommy and Donald Johnson; two step-children, Daniel and wife Sandy Hixon and Angela and husband Jamie Lloyd; five grandchildren, Daniel Johnson, Ridge Hixon, Jamie Ryan Lloyd, Brandon Lloyd and Andrew Lloyd.  Along with a host of other relatives and friends, he is also survived by his two sisters, Ethel Gibson and Mary Jo and husband James Bryant. The family will receive friends this afternoon, Wednesday, February 20, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home, 432 East Main in Hazard.  Interment will be at the Englewood Cemetery in Christopher where DAV Rites will be performed by Chapter 64. Jones, Arlee -born May 19, 1934 in Perry County, Ky., departed this life on Monday, June 2 at the Hazard Nursing Home in Hazard, Ky. At the time of his passing he was 74 years and 13 days of age. By occupation he was a disabled coal miner, and a lifelong resident of Perry County. Mr. Arlee Jones is preceded in death by his parents, John and Litha Williams Jones; son Adrian Lee Jones; nine brothers and one sister. He leaves the following relatives surviving: wife, Rosie Jones of Dice, Ky.; son Vardell Jones of Dice; daughters Sandra Campbell of Clayhole, Ky., Debra Godsey of Dice and Elizabeth Jones of Dice. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will be left behind to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Arlee Jones were conducted on Wednesday, June 4 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Eldon Miller officiating. Burial took place in the Jones Family Cemetery at Ary, Ky. Jones, Billy G. ~ 72, of Lexington and formerly of  Hazard, passed away on Tuesday, November 25 after a long and courageous battle  with cancer. Following his graduation from M.C. Napier High School in  1958, Billy proudly served in the United States Navy for nine years. He  was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Marie Jones. He is survived  by his aunt, Ann Jones and cousin Suellen Sutton and family of Clarksville,  Ohio; cousin Marlene Ceglar and family of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and by a  host of other relatives and friends. Jones, Effie Gayheart -born October 15,  1926, departed this life on Tuesday, September 16 at her residence. She was 81  years, 11 months and one day of age at the time of her passing. She was  born at Cordia, Ky., the daughter of the late Austin Gayheart and the late Nancy  Grigsby Gayheart. She was a life long resident of Knott and Perry Counties, and  was a member of the Sumnertown Old Regular Baptist Church. She was  preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Jones; sister Gracie Feltner and  brothers Johnny Gayheart and Little Arthur Gayheart. She leaves the  following relatives behind to mourn her passing: six step-children; special  nieces Opal Watson of Bulan and Anna Gail Sumner of Lotts Creek; brother Arthur  Gayheart; sister Amy Allen of Lotts Creek and a host of nieces, nephews and  other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday,  September 20 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home in Hazard with Howard Owens and  Bob Combs officiating. The

Jones, Huey Norman -77, of Hazard, died Friday, September 12 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He was the son of the late Sam Jones and the late Cleo Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones; daughters Teresa Jones and Judy Jones Malone; sister Marietta Rogers; grandchildren Huey Allen Jones, Jeremy Drew Jones and Cacie Turk; great grandchildren James Jody Jones, Noah Turk, Caylen Jones, Deborah, Cayelin and Bethany. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel in Hazard where the family received friends on Monday, September 15. The funeral service was at the chapel on Tuesday, September 16 with Rev. Jones, Mary Gerhardt ~ Age 65 of Hamilton, OH, beloved mother of 7 passed away February 16 2009 after a long battle with cancer. She was born October 26,1943 in Hazard, KY, the daughter of the late Harry and Daisy Gerhardt. She was preceded in death by grandmother Addie Mcintosh Morris and great-granddaughter Katlyn Marie Gadd. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Her passion was cooking... a pinch of this and a pinch of that is what she would say. Mary had many hobbies including quilting, sewing, reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and flowers. On May 28, 1962 she married David William Jones a beloved union of 46 years. She is survived by her husband David William Jones, and was the devoted mother of Patricia Lynn (James) Eversole, Linda Jones, David Willam Jones Jr, Harry Henry (Viola) Jones, Bobby Jones, James A. (Wendy) Jones, and Sarah Jones. A loving grandmother of 11, a loving great grandmother of 5. She will be missed. Visitation will be February 20, 2009 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road. Funeral services will be at 2 pm with burial to follow at Rose Burial Park. All donations should be made to The American Cancer Society.

Justice, Hayes -age 70, of Viper, Ky, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Our Lady of the Way Hospital in Martin, Ky. He was preceded in death by one son, Normal Ray Justice. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Justice; four daughters-Deloris McIntyre, Wilma  Justice, Wanda Farmer, and Sharon Faye McKinney; one step-daughter, Connie Lavonne Feltner,  a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
