Keen, Helen (Turner) ~ beloved wife of the late Edwin Paul  Keen, Sr., loving mother of Karol Hughes (Patrick), Edwin Paul Keen, Jr. (Anne), 
Kevin L. Keen (Katarzyna), dear grandmother of Gretchen, Kristen, Edwin Paul  III, and Benjamin,  passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at the Mercy  Hospital in Cincinnati. Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at  the Anderson Funeral Home, 8611 Winton Rd. from 5 p.m. until time of memorial  service 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 644  Linn St., Cincinnati, OH  45203. Keith, Gaius Jones -the widow of Lewie Keith, whom she married on August 10, 1940,  passed away at her home in Somerset on Saturday, February 2.  At the time of her death, she was 88 years of age. A native of Perry County, she was born on January 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Arlie and Eula Martin Jones.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church in Cumberland, KY.
Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Neikirk and an infant brother, Donnie Jones. She is survived by a son, David Keith of Somerset and a daughter, Mary Ruther Foster of Frankfort.  Her surviving siblings are Orville Jones of Norwood, Ohio, Bill Jones of Uma, Kentucky., Harold Jones of California, Kentucky, Jimmy Jones of Faubush, Kentucky, Ted Jones of Irvine, Kentucky, Pauline Winkley of Richmond, Kentucky, Doris Jean Benton of Irvine, Kentucky and Annette Jewert of Hampton, Ohio.  Her surviving grandchildren are David Keith II, Cathy Krenek, Cynthia Foster, Michael and Robert Foster, and her great-grandchildren are Joey and Sam Krenek, Justin Keith and Tobin Foster. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, February 5, at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, Somerset, where the funeral service will be conducted this morning, Wednesday, February 6, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Alan Keith officiating.  Interment will be at 3:00 PM today at the Englewood Cemetery, Hazard. Lake Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements

Kilburn, Dorothy Harvey - the widow of Luther Kilburn, passed away on Monday, February 11, at Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center in Pinsonfork, Kentucky.  She was a former resident of Perry County.  Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Cinda Williams Harvey and two sons, Charles and Bobby Kilburn.  At the time of her death, Mrs. Kilburn was 84 years of age. Mrs. Kilburn is survived by her four sons, Dennis and wife Eureka, Danny and wife Denise, David and wife Salella and Coy and wife Geraldine Kilburn.  She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren , family and friends. The family received friends on Wednesday evening, February 13, at Maggards Mountain View Chapel where the funeral service was conducted on Thursday afternoon, February 14, at 1:00 PM with J. David Stevens officiating.  Interment was at the Englewood Cemetery at Christopher. Kilburn, Ruby Angel -85, of Viper, passed away Sunday, September 21, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.  She was born January 9, 1923 at Happy to the late Jess Angel and Evalee Hayes Angel.  She was the widow of the late Thurman (Shorty) Kilburn.  She was also preceded in  death by a son, Jimmy Wayne Kilburn.  She was a member of the Rogers Branch Church of Christ at Viper.  She is survived by one son,  Danny Dale Kilburn and Teresa of Viper;  one daughter, Wanda Faye Tackett and William of Viper;  one brother,  Edward Angel and Bobbie Lou of Indiana;  one sister, Elizabeth Ann Angel of Dayton, Ohio;  six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, eight great, great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24, at 2 p.m. at the Rogers Branch Church of Christ at Viper with Rev. Karl Baker and Rev. King, Charles Ishmael Sr.~  Age 84, of Hamilton, OH was called home to the Lord on April 16, 2009. He was born in 1925 in Glomawr, KY to Saul and Janie King. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Magnolia, 12 siblings and two of his children Jeannie D. Walker and Stephen L. Walker and three grandchildren William A. Walker, Roy Lee Printup and Aaron R. Printup. He is survived by his sister, Jewell Spears of Richmond, IN; 4 children Loretta Printup of Fairfield, OH, Charles I. King, Jr. of Hamilton, OH, Sandra A. King of Hamilton and Craig M. King of Columbus, OH and special niece Brenda Phillips of St. Louis, MO. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was a faithful member of Israel Baptist church for over 40 years where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was an original founder of The Good Guys Christian Club. He worked for the Hamilton Foundry until his retirement after 25 years of service. Funeral services will be held 12 noon April 17, 2009 at Israel Baptist Church 701 A. 7th St with Rev. Ronald Davis, Pastor officiating. Visitation 11AM at the church until time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Green Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel.

Kingery, Arbutus Spurlock ~ Age 70 of Vandalia, OH passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2009 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1938 in Perry County, KY the daughter of the late William & Lillie (New) Spurlock. Arbutus was preceded in death by her son Donald Steve O'Diam in 2006; one brother Lloyd Spurlock and one sister Betty Jo Hammon. She is survived by 3 sisters, Mildred Marie Kilby of Dayton, OH, Elizabeth Baine and Loretta Scott both of Vandalia, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held March 4, 2009 at 10:00am at the Living Word Church 926 E. National Rd. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on March 3m 2009 from 5 to 8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Living Word Church Memorial Fund in memory of Arbutus.

Kinser, Sarah Jane Childers Engle Fugate  age 79 of Dayton, OH passed away February 27, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital after a short illness. She was born August 19, 1928 in Perry County, KY, daughter of the late John & Ollie Childers. Sarah was a volunteer with the Salvation Army, she loved gardening, music, dancing and traveling to Las Vegas. She loved and had a passion for all animals. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton Engle Sr.; second husband J. B. Fugate; third husband, Lee Kinser; 1 son, Edward Joseph Engle; 1 sister Almeda; 2 brothers, Lawrence and Clyde Edward; 2 sons-in-law, Darrell Herbst & Les Burton. Sarah is survived by 1 son, Burton Engle Jr.; 5 daughters, Joyce & husband Gary Staley, Kathy & husband Monty Bilyeu, Marie Herbst, Wilma Burton, Mabel & husband Steve Schott; 1 brother, JR. Childers; 1 sister Mabel Sizemore; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives & friends. It was Sarah's wish that her body be cremated and a Memorial Service for family & friends will be held at 2:00 P.M. February 29, 2008 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, OH with Pastor David Starry officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of services at 2:00 PM. If so desired contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Sarah's memory.
