Osborne,
John Daniel -age 78 of
Fairborn, OH went to heaven to be with his Lord on January 1, 2009 in the
Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 5, 1930 in Hazard, KY, the son of
the late Otis and Vertie (Brewer) Osborne. John was a member of Victory Temple
for 33 years; a veteran of the
U.S. Navy, serving in the
Korean War; and retired from Gypsum Interiors where he was employed as a
drywall finisher. He is survived by his wife, Bea Osborne, whom he married
December 28, 1967;
children, Annette Williams and husband Ken of Fairborn, Danny Osborne and wife
Teresa of Port Washington, OH,
Joey Osborne and wife Anna of Fairborn, and Tammy Osborne of Fairborn; nine
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers,
Fred Osborne and wife Nola of TN, Charles Osborne and wife Gracy of
Fairborn; two sisters, Sarah Wight, Sue Wyatt and husband John, both of
Fairborn; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and three
sisters. A funeral service will be held on January 5, 2009 at 12 Noon in the
Victory Temple,
2443 Valle Greene Drive, Fairborn, Pastor Tim Walden and Pastor Ancil
Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time
of service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in the

Owens, James -a resident of Worth, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 8. A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Greenberry and Mammie L. Smith Owens. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tiffany Day. He is survived by his wife, Betty Collins Owens, formally of Napor; their daughter, Brenda and husband Anthony Day of Krypton; two sons, James and wife Julie Owens, Jr. of Trenton, Alabama, and Steven Owens of Worth, Illinois. He is also survived by his step-mother, Adell Owens. His surviving siblings are Louise Bright, Elouise Owens, Margaret Owens, Linda Owens, Hubert Owens and Greenberry Owens, Jr., all residents of Spartanburg, South Carolina. His surviving grandchildren are Anthony Day, Jr. and wife Olivia of Krypton, Jessie and wife Jennifer Day of Yerkes, Shane Day of Krypton and James Owens III of Trenton, Alabama. Mr. Owens was the great-grandfather of Daulton, Alexia and Tyler Day. Along with other relatives, he is also survived by a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 PM tonight, Wednesday, February 13, at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home where the service will conducted tomorrow, Thursday, February 14, at 11:00 AM with Eddie Williams officiating.
