Born March 20, 1940 in Perry County, KY to Hargis and Mary Ellen (Miller) Noble, she was a laundry technician for SRI Surgical in Mason until she retired in 2002. She also worked at Lebanon Plastics for several years. Preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Burton Noble, one sister, Rosie Belle Noble, and one grandson, Jamie Ray Salyers; survivors include her husband of 51 years, Johnny "Harlan" Salyers of Morrow, three sons, Johnny Jay Salyers of Morrow, Ancil Ray (Barbara) Salyers of Clarksville, OH and Jonah, Lee Salyers SR of Morrow, one daughter, Phyllis Ann (Daniel) Salyers of Morrow, two brothers, Sherman (Sue) Noble of Chicago, IL and Beacher Noble of Monticello, IN, one sister-in-law, Linda Noble of Lockport, IL, ten grandchildren, Johnny David, Jonah JR, Jennifer, Dennis and James Salyers, Cody and Cassidy Morton, and Chrisdy, Danielle and Kallie Middleton, and three great grandchildren, Corey David Gray and Julia and Sean Salyers. Salyers, Jerry Jr., Age 65, of Trenton, OH went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2008 at Atrium Medical Center where he had been a patient for 4 days. He was born July 10, 1942 in (Perry County) Kentucky, moving to Ohio in 1950. He was employed in foundation work by Myers Concrete and S & S Foundations for 25 years, and then as a machine operator for Eversharpe-Deburring Tool Company in Trenton, OH for 10 years retiring in 2002. He also cared for his mother after she suffered a stroke. He was an active member of the Home Avenue First Church of God, Trenton, OH, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He enjoyed four-wheeling in the Cumberland Lake area. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Salyers, Sr. and one son, Jerry Keith Salyers. Sandlin, Bobby -62, of Hazard, died Wednesday, September 10 at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Newt Sandlin and the late Anna Gaye Dixon. He is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Sandlin. He is survived by three aunts, Della Mullins, Thelma Bentley and Edith Akers; uncle Bennett Dixon; niece Pam Willis; special cousin Joyce Smith and a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family received friends on Thursday, September 11. A graveside service was held at Carr Fork Cemetery on Friday, September 12. Burial was at the cemetery located in Knott County.

She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky the daughter of the late James Kelly Lawson and the late Rosa Adams Lawson. By occupation she was a housekeeper and was self-employed. Sellers, Paul Randall ~ born January 5, 1967 at Campton,  departed this life on Friday, December 19 at his residence in Upper Second  Creek. At the time of his passing he was 41 years, 11 months and 14 days of  age. He was a life long resident of Perry County and a member of the Old  Regular Baptist Church at Clear Creek. He enjoyed woodworking, selling door to  door, and visiting with friends and family. He also enjoyed walking and going to the grocery store. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles  Sellers. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Barbara Sellers of Upper  Second Creek; brother James “Barry” Sellers of Upper Second Creek; sisters  Valarie Campbell and husband Dwayne of Upper Second Creek, Rose Shields and  husband Glenn of Upper Second Creek; nephews Devin Campbell and Cody Shields,  both of Upper

Sexton, Della Mae ~ age 85, of Carlisle, Ohio, formerly of Perry County, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio. She was born in Perry County, Ky. on July 14, 1923 to Morgan Wilson and Polly Napier Wilson. She is survived by her daughter-Judy Ann Secrest of New Athens, Ohio. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel. Burial followed in the Mountain Memory Gardens at Hindman under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

Shuler, John W. -69, of Kingsport, Tn., passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. John was born September 12, 1938 in Franklin, N.C. a son of the late Sam and Daisy Shuler and had resided in Kingsport for the past 36 years. He was employed by Embarq - Star Construction Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Zoelle Campbell Shuler; two daughters, Drew Wilson and Carson Begley. Shepherd, Betty Jo Herbison -70, of Delphia, passed away Sunday, June 23 at her home. Mrs. Shepherd was a native of Humphreys County, Tn. and had lived in Delphia most of her life. She was a homemaker; believed in the Baptist faith; and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delphia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlie and Mary McCreary Herbison; and a brother, Edward Herbison. Survivors include her husband, Robin Ray Shepherd, of Delphia; a daughter, Pam Whitaker and husband Leathan of Delphia; one grandson, Andy Whitaker of Delphia; one sister, June Greenwod and husband Charles of Central City; two brothers, Ray Herbison and Gene Herbison of McEwen, Tn.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 24 at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, Ky. followed by the funeral services with Rev. Eddie Williams officiating. Shepherd, Jimmy Charles "Chigger" ~  was called to the Lord after his battle with a lengthy illness surrounded by family. Jimmy Charles was born in Perry County, KY on June 21, 1946, to Bige Shepherd, Jr. (Deceased) and Mildred (Butch) Johnson Shepherd. He was the brother of Carl (Sonny) Shepherd (Deceased) and Nora Diane Shepherd Monk (Deceased) He graduated from Elkhorn City School, Elkhorn City, KY in 1965 and was on the 1964 State Championship Football Team. Jimmy proudly served his country serving two tours in Vietnam with the 173rd airborne in 1966-67 and 82nd Airborne in 1968. He married Brenda Sue Ratliff in 1968 and was a devoted husband for 40 years. He is the father to two daughters Nora Renae Agee (Craig) and Susan Denise Caudill (Danny); Grandfather to Petty Officer 1st class Zachary Short and Bricen Caudill, Stephanie, Rachael and Cody Agee. Jimmy retired from AK Steel, Middletown, OH and was Past Master of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M. and was also a Kentucky Colon!

Shepherd, Josephine Fitzpatrick - passed away August 16, 2008. She was born January 10, 1916 in Whitesburg, Ky. to the late Dr. John D. Fitzpartick and Eunice Baker Fitzpatrick. Josephine was retired from Pet Dairy in Hazard, Ky. She has resided in Lexington and Harlan since leaving Hazard. She received great pleasure from her family, friends and pets. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazard, she gave her time, talents and love serving anyway she could. Josephine was also a member of the Hazard Chapter of the D.A.R. During over 30 years of membership to the Garden Club of Perry Co., she served in many offices and committees. Josie was also a member of Kentucky Preceptor Phi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and XI PSI Chapter. She served in many offices including President and on many committees. She was also given the honor of being named girl of the year. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: John Ogden Shepherd; her husband: William Ogden Shepherd; a sister: Pauline F. Russell; brothers: John D. Fitzpatrick, Thomas Y. Fitzpatrick and James Fitzpatrick. She leaves surviving a sister-in-law: Ruby S. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Irvin Eversole, husband Bige Shepherd, Jr., two brothers James Eversole, Jack Eversole, and her three children Carl "Sonny" Shepherd, Jimmy C. Shepherd, and Nora Diane Monk. Shepherd, Ronald "Ducksie" - of Hardburly departed this life at his home on Sunday, March 2.  At the time of his death, he was sixty-nine years of age.  He was a member of the Tribbey Pentecostal Church and a former employee in the steel milling business in Kendallville, Indiana. His surviving siblings are Floyd Miller of Knott County, Adam and wife Patty Shepherd of Tennessee, Mack of Ligonier, Indiana and Arizona Everage of Knox, Indiana.  He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was Tuesday evening, March 4, at the Hardburly Baptist Church where the funeral service was conducted on Wednesday morning, March 5, at 11:00 AM.  The burial was at the Hurdburly Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the staff of the Engle-Walker Funeral Home.

Aggie was employed as a server at Slater Food Service until her retirement. She is survived by two brothers, Ray Collie and Ronnie Collie; and a sister, Helen Garrett. Sizemore, Marvin D. ~ 53, of Indianapolis, passed away January 2, 2009. He  was born March 3, 1955 in Hyden, Ky. to Dennis and Minnie Rose Stidham  Sizemore. Marvin graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1973. He  worked for the J D Gould Solenoid Valve Co. as a foreman for the past 38 years.  Marvin was also a member of the Professional Bowlers  Association. Sizemore, Roy "Doug" -age 59, of Mixerville, IN passed away May 15, 2008 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, OH. He was born January 26, 1949 in Perry County, KY, the son of Roy and Goldie (Fields) Sizemore. On April 13, 1968 he married Judy Franklin and they enjoyed 40 wonderful years together. Doug had retired after being a self employed truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working on muscle cars spending time with his nieces and nephews and was a devoted and faithful member of the Somerville Pentecostal Church. Slone, Mrs. Mavis Hicks -age 92, of Somerset passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at her residence. She was born on February 21, 1916 in Knott County, KY to the late Albert and Nancy Jane Wicker Hicks. She was a cook for many years at Gahanna Nursing Home in Gahanna, OH. She was a member of Sonshine Mission Church in Columbus, OH until she moved to Somerset in 1976, where she attended the 1st Wesleyan Church of Somerset. She loved quilting, fishing, cooking, gardening, and her church. Mavis was known as “Granny” to almost everyone who knew her and loved by so many. Mrs. Slone is survived by two sons, Arnold B. Slyger, Ralph L. Sr., 86, of Xenia, OH passed away December 26, 2008 at Greene Memorial Hospital.  He was born October 27, 1922 in Hazard, KY, the son of John and Olivia (Pack) Slyger.  He was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in Europe, and was the recipient of a Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal. He retired from General Motors Delco Moraine Plant after 30 years. In his retirement, he spent much time at Cave Run Lake in Kentucky, where he enjoyed many hours of fishing. He was a charter member and a former deacon of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dolores (Powers) Slyger; 3 children and their spouses, Sheryl L. and James Bullen; Ralph L. Jr. and Diane Slyger; Mark L. and Janice Slyger, all of Xenia, OH; grandchildren, Shelly (Jason) Caudill, Leslie Bullen, Brandy (Dennis) Dice, Nichol (Gary) Garrison, Jason (Christina) Slyger, Ryan Slyger, Keith Corbin and Vanessa Corbin; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Blair, of Middletown, OH; and brother, Jack Slyger, of Peebles, OH. Smith,  Billie Jean - of Hazard passed away on Saturday, February 9, at the Hazard A.R.H. Hospital.  At the time of her death, she was 24 years of age.  She was the daughter of Sadie Smith and the late William Smith. She is survived by her two sisters, Melissa and husband Shannon Barker of Morehead and Crista Miller of Minnesota;  two brothers, Paul Miller and Bill Smith, both of Sixteen Mile Creek as well as a host of other family members and friends. The family received friends on Tuesday evening, February 12, at the Maggard Brothers Funeral Home where the funeral service will conducted today, Wednesday, February 13, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Smith, Emma Lou (Combs) -71, wife of Fred Smith, passed away Sunday, September 7 at her residence. Emma was born Sunday, March 28, 1937 in Perry County to the late Ben and Martha (McIntosh) Combs. She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading and traveling and was a member of the Buckhorn Lake Area Church. Along with her husband of 55 years, she is survived by four sons, Ken and Carol Smith, Ben Smith and Tommy and Mildred Smith, all of Buckhorn, and Dee and Vicky Smith of Gays Creek; daughter Joy and James Stamper of Buckhorn. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Branam, and three sisters. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 10 at the Buckhorn Lake Area Church in Buckhorn with Pastors Phillip Swartzentruber, Gayle and Tim Burns officiating. Smith, George - of Tram, slips into his Heavenly  Eternity, Thursday, September 25, 2008. He was born December 23, 1919, in  Justell, the son of the late Joe Manuel Smith and Etta Smith of Justel. He  peacefully left this world after a battle with heart disease. While serving our  country during World War II, he was recognized as a successful “Medic,” and was  honorably discharged from the Medical Department of the United States Army in  1945. These services were rendered at the 110th Station Hospital. Shortly after  his return, he married Helen Virginia Steffey, and later became the proud father  of Pauletta Smith. He always valued true love and family life, and remained  married to Helen 59 plus years. He followed his daughter’s successful music  career until poor health prevented him from doing so. Many people will  remember George from the Prestonsburg Bargain  Store, where he and his wife  worked together most of their lives. George ended his career as an extremely  successful salesperson, recognized throughout our southeastern states. In  addition to his loyalty to our country, he was also a very faithful and loyal  husband and father, with excellent moral standards. On April 14, 2008, George  made the most important decision of his life. Pastor Rick Kelly baptized him at  the Prestonsburg Church of Christ. He left behind his true and loving  wife, Helen Smith; his one and only daughter, Pauletta Smith; his extended  family: a daughter, Sheila Kay Steffey Horton, and husband Frank E. Horton of  East Tennessee; a grandson, Jason A. Stumbo and fiancée, Katie Clark of Ohio;  and a granddaughter, Amada K. Stumbo Reed and husband Joseph Kyle Reed of  Elizabethtown; a brother, Freddie Smith and family of Columbus, Ohio; a sister,  Edith Calhoun of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and  many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and  Etta Smith; brothers: John Paul, Frank and Walter Smith; his sisters; Suda  Wallace, Cindy Osborne, Verily Montgomery, Josie McKerrel, Betty Farley, and  Ruth Dillion. A “Going Home Celebration” was held Saturday, September 27,  at 2:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Rick Kelley  officiating. Smith, Johnny ~ 92, of Ary, passed away Sunday, December 28 at the Hazard ARH  Medical Center. Born on June 28, 1916, Johnny Smith was a disabled coal  miner and a member of the Upper Lost Creek Baptist Church located at  Dice. He was the son of the late Ervin and Canzella Grigsby Smith and the  husband of the late Sythia Brewer Smith. He is also preceded in death by  brothers Zackie Smith, Joe Smith and Harve Smith and sisters Frankie Fugate and  Liza Barnett. He is survived by sons Harve and Della Smith and Arthur and  Tonia Smith, both of Ary; daughters Adele Gayheart of Ary, Joyce Campbell of  Ary, Polly and James Allen of Jackson and Dorothy and Tommy Reeves of Fairborne,  Ohio; sister Rachel Stacy of Ary; special nephew Donnie Ray Smith; 22  grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Smith, Sr., Kennie Curtis -54, of  Hazard, died Tuesday, September 23 at his residence. He was a deacon at New Hope  Christian Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas "Jake"  Smith and son Shelby Wayne Collett. Snider, Helen ~ born November 16, 1916 in Chicago, Il., departed this  life on Saturday, December 20 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. At the  time of her passing she was 92 years, one month and four days of age. By  occupation, Helen was a retired librarian, serving at Madisonville Community  College. She also served in the United States Army during World War II as an  information decoder in Germany, Australia and many other locations. She received  two Master’s degrees in library science and the German language. She was a  member of the garden club in Madisonville and a Girl Scout leader. Her hobbies  included gardening, sewing, playing piano, reading and volunteering at many  libraries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Iva  Colegrove Griffith and her husband, Byron Snider. She is survived by her  son, Lyle Snider and wife Cynthia Cole of Hazard; daughters Ann Elizabeth Snider  of Tucker, Ga. and Carol Francis Brent and husband Dennis of Eminence, Ky.;  grandchildren Nathan Snider, Jeremy Snider and Tamara Greer. Spaulding, Richard Douglas (R.D.) -80, died Friday, Oct. 17, in Chandler, Ariz. Formerly a resident of Versailles, Richard (also known as Dick or R.D.) was preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy (Dot) Phillips Spaulding and by his first wife Marjorie Foley Spaulding. He was born and raised in eastern Kentucky and although he traveled and lived in many areas across the country, remained a Kentuckian at heart. Richard was a graduate of Hazard High School, the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a farmer, Postmaster of the Clay City, KY, Post Office and a postal inspector for almost 30 years. He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Spaulding Salvucci of Arizona; a son, Henry (Hank) Spaulding of Hazard, a step-son, Jim Jarman of Versailles and his grandchildren, Anthony (Tony) Salvucci, Matthew (Matt) Salvucci, Skyler Fugate and Daniel Spaulding. He retired as a Civil Service Electrical Engineer from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH and was a Kentucky Colonel. Stacy, Sampson- Mr. Sampson Stacy born September 8, 1919 departed this life on December 7, 1991 at the age of 72 years 2 months 29 days. Mr. Stacy was born in Perry County, Kentucky, the son of the lat Joe Stacy and Nancy Jane Stacy. Mr. Sampson Stacy served in World War II in the United States Air Force. By occupation Mr. Stacy was a retired Railroad Worker. Survived by wife: Ollie Stacy of Ary, Kentucky, one son; Roger Stacy, Ary, Ky., one daughter Linda Godsey of Emmalena, Ky., two sisters: Nancy Brown of California, Lottie Cassinelli of California and 7 grandchildren. Stacy, Sandra Dunigan ~ age 59 of New Lebanon, OH passed away April 26, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sandra was a native of Jeff, KY and a resident of New Lebanon for forty years. Stacy, Walter-age 83, of Middletown, OH died April 15, 2008 at the Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg, OH. He was born July 20, 1924 in Hazard, KY, the son of James Stacy and Helen (Cornett) Stacy. Mr. Stacy was a nine year veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II with service in Europe and Africa receiving the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. He worked at the Ford Motor Company, Sharonville, OH as a forklift driver retiring after 27 years of service. Mr. Stacy was a member of the UAW #863. He attended Monroe Church of God. His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty J. (Pelfrey) Stacy; two sons, Michael Stacy and Mitch Stacy both of Middletown, OH; one granddaughter, Jessica Lee Stacy of Grand Prairie, TX; two brothers, Aster Stacy and Robert Stacy both of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Fay (Mayo) Taulbee of Springdale, OH and Beatrice (Leroy) Carter of VA. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; five brothers, Lawrence, Bernard, Lester, James and Sylvester Stacy; and one sister, Zola. Stamper, Chloe Morgan -age 81, of Hazard, Ky., died Saturday, June 28 at the Hazard ARH Medical  Center. Mrs. Stamper was a life long resident of Perry County and was formally employed as a nurse with the Mt. Mary Hospital and Hazard ARH. She was a member of the Little Willard Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late Elijah Morgan and the late Mary Hamblin Morgan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Stamper, son Teddy Stamper, brothers Richard, Johnny, and Elijah Morgan and sisters Ethel Collins, Mallie Feltner and Prudie Holman. She is survived by Ethel Joyce Collins and Edgar of Krypton, Ky., Brenda Lois Watters and Reuben of Ten Mile Creek, Gail Franks and Charles of Cadiz, Ky., Audrey Owen and Bobby of Hazard and Sharon Kaye Lewis and Ronnie of Smilax, Ky.; sons James Edward Stamper and Sharon of Morehead, Ky. and Charles David Stamper and Sharon of Morristown, Tn.; sister Barbara Morris of Busy; brother Farris Morgan of New Carlisle, Ohio. She is also survived by special niece Billie J. Couch, special friend Lillian Baker, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family received friends on Tuesday, July 1 with the funeral service immediately following with Jack Carter officiating. Stamper, Frank ~ 74 of Franklin, OH died February 21, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. A native of Buckhorn, KY he was the son of George and Maud (Amis) Stamper. Frank retired from General Motors in 1982. He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, a daughter and her husband, Vickie and Jeff McNabb of Franklin, OH; 3 sisters, Polly Brogran of Carlisle, OH, Mary Ann Sparks of Buckhorn, KY and Donna Dawe of British Columbia. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gay of Franklin. Funeral services will be February 24, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd. St. Franklin. Stamper, Mary Lou -born January 18, 1940 in Hazard, departed this life on Tuesday, October 14 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. At the time of her passing she was 68 years, eight months and 26 days of age. By occupation she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mendell Creech, Sr. and Lucy Hensley Creech; husband Manuel Ray Stamper; sister Phyllis Everage and sons Manuel Ray Stamper, Jr. and Junior Creech. She leaves the following relatives surviving: sons David Stamper and Crystal Hensley of Bulan, Grover Stamper and Jeannie of Upper Second Creek; daughters Janice Neace and Johnny of Upper Second Creek and Debbie Combs of Bulan; brothers John Creech and Delores of Grapevine, Elisha Creech and Dottie of Vicco, Mendell Creech and Goldie of Vicco; sisters Margaret Combs and Eddie of Hiner. Brenda Williams and F.G. of Hiner, Sandra Kay Sally and Ray of Pigeonroost and Doris Jean Combs and Richard of Lothair. She is also survived by nine grandhilcdren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, October 17 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Stamper, Rodney Darnell -34, of Hazard, died Saturday, November 1 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ernest Leon Gayhart and paternal grandparents, Robin and Vicie Stamper. He is survived by his parents, Archie and Kathleen Stamper; maternal grandmother Bertha Gayhart; daughter Jessica Gabrielle Bentley Stamper; brothers Archie Stamper, Jr. and Brian Keith Stamper. Stepp, Mae -who was born November 6, 1935, in Viper,  passed away on Tuesday, January 15, in Mt. Sterling. The widow of Golden Stepp,  she was 72 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Stepp, a homemaker was a  member of The Tree of Life Pentecostal Church. Along with her husband, she was  also preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Laura Clark and her sons, Bobby,  Toddy, Ralph, Tony, Mickey and Richard Glenn. Her survivors are her son,  Randy Stepp of Mt. Sterling; her daughters, Joyce Feltner of Viper and Margie  Feltner of Hazard; her brother, Dewey Clark of Winchester and her sisters,  Maggie Craft of Cornettsville and Francis Joseph of Slemp. She is also survived  by her eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren  and ten step-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and  friends. Mrs. Stepp's funeral service was conducted on Saturday, January 9, at the Leatherwood Freewill Pentecostal Church at Slemp with Billy Banks,  Larry Smith, John Potter and Pete Combs officiating. Stevens, Molly Belle Dunaway -Age 86 of Blanchester, OH passed away at Bethesda North Hospital on May 18, 2008. She was born in Chavies, KY on February 22, 1922, the daughter of Joe and Roberta (Baker) Dunaway. Molly was employed as a floor supervisor at U.S. Shoe and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Goshen. She is survived by a son, William "Bud" (Denice) Rader III of Crittenden, KY; a daughter, Ruth Ramsey of Blanchester, OH; three brothers, Tom (Gladys) Dunaway of Crossville, TN, Frank Dunaway of Lubbock, TX, and Phillip (Carol) Dunaway of Louisville, KY; three sisters, Margie Tabor of Crossville, TN, Madge Inman of Dayton, OH, and Roberta Woods of Richmond, KY; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Fred Rader; a daughter, Sharon Criswell French; and several brothers and sisters. A graveside funeral service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel on May 22, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the chapel from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM day of service.

Stidham, William Harrison -84, of Morrow, OH died October 5, 2008. Born September 28, 1924 in Allais, KY to Taylor and Rhoda (Maddox) Stidham, he was retired from General Electric as a process control engineer after 35 years. A US Navy veteran, he was a member of the Blanchester American Legion. He volunteered for extended care services through the Sugar Run Baptist Church, which he attended. He was also a little league baseball coach for several years back in the 90s. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richmond and Raymond Stidham, two sisters, Juanita Peters and Nancy Combs and two granddaughters, Kelly Price and Becca Abbott, survivors include his wife of 60 years, Maurene (nee: Jones) Stidham, whom he was devoted to and cared for through her illness, one son, William L. Stidham of Morrow, OH, three daughters, Sue (Chuck) Muchmore of Clarksville, OH, Alinda Wnitersteen of Morrow, and Barbara (Danny) Urton of Maineville, OH, one brother, Ed (Lois) Stidham of Tampa, FL, eight grandchildren, Kim Speaks, Christina Cline, John Wintersteen, Christina Newman, Brandon Urton, James Motz, Katrina Hines, and Erica Mooneyham, and nine great grandchildren, Morgan Cole, Adam Wasson, Brady and Brock Speaks, Jarett and Madison Newman, and Donny, Samantha, and Savannah Hines. Stidham, Ruthford "Duke" -79, of Xenia, OH passed away August 8, 2008 at the V. A. Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He was born December 15, 1928 in Hazard, KY, the son of Dennis "Rusty" and Sylvania (Gibson) Stidham. Duke served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and later retired after 31 years at WPAFB where he had been Base Housing Manager. Duke was a minister at the Xenia Church of Christ for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Martha (Baker) Stidham, three sons, their wives and children, Gary, Rhea, Ryan and Kala Stidham of Xenia, OH, Greg, Marcia, Isaiah, Hannah , Joshua and Micah Stidham of Columbus, OH, Steve, Lisa, Jennifer and Quentin "Duke" Stidham, of Groton, CT, sisters Gladys Campbell of Xenia, Juanita Howard of Hamilton, OH, a brother Carl Stidham of Xenia as well as other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. August 11, 2008 at the Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club Dr. Xenia with Pastor Chuck Forsythe officiating. Sumner, Chalmer ~ 61, of Lexington, passed away  Tuesday, February 3 at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1947 in  Perry County. He retired from the Cabinet of Human Resources, Division of  Employment as a hearing officer. He was preceded in death by his  daughter, Jacqueline Allene Sumner. He was the son of Denver Sumner and  Nora (Combs) Sumner. He is also survived by his son, Denver E. Sumner  and Monica; sisters Lana Hurley and Gary, Bertha Audrey Sumner and Danny Gibson,  and Cora Lee Walker and James; brother Denver Sumner, Jr. and Diana;  grandchildren Garrett and Grayson Sumner and a host of nieces, nephews, family,  and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel  where the family received friends on Friday, February 6. The funeral service was  conducted at the chapel on Saturday, February 7 with Charles Smith officiating.  Burial was at Sumner-Combs Cemetery located at Acup.

Sumner, Herman Lee ~ age 59 of Vicco, passed away February 16, 2009, at home.  He was born April 7, 1949, in Perry County, the son of the late Eli & Susie Combs Sumner.  He was a disabled coal miner and the husband of Mary Gibson Sumner.  He is survived by 1 son: Herman Ray (Priscilla) Sumner of Vicco; 1 daughter: Lisa (Hershel) Smith of Happy; 2 brothers: Elmer Sumner of Vicco, & James Sumner of Acup; 1 sister: Elmira Sumner of Vicco; 3 grandchildren: Jordan Smith, Cory Smith & Leighanne Sumner; a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Norman Sumner.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, at Sassafras, with Don Pratt & Danny Amburgey officiating.  Burial followed at the defiance Cemetery at Happy, under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman, Kentucky.
