(NOTE 1:  'P' initial could stand for Price (very common to be listed in this manner), and the birthdate equates to abt 1864, which would have made her abt 14 yrs old when Malisa Caldonia was born (1878) - also common to have children at this young age.  Jessamine Co. KY location of residence has not been found in this family before or after this, but it is quite possible at the age of 93, that she retired closer to another relative or unknown child here.)
(NOTE 2:  In Malisa Caldonia's Nelson family, rumor has it that Malisa was illegitimate (Clay and Nancy Price may not have been married..  that would make the record above belong to another Nancy Martin -- more research needed.)

     She was said to have had the town of Mousie, KY named after her on July 31, 1916 in when the town was formed - at the prompting of her grandfather, William J. Martin.1  Mousie Martin, born 1899 in Kentucky, died 1976.  "Mousie.  (Knott County) (Handshoe Quadrangle).  This village with post office is centered on Kentucky 80 at the Creek, six and a half miles northeast of Hindman.  The post office was established on July 31, 1916, some two miles up the fork with Ollie M. Gibson, postmaster and named for Mouise (Mrs. Mart) Gibson (1896-1976), the daughter of Clay Martin, a large landowner of that area.  The post office was later moved to its present location but retained the name.  According to Mrs. Gibson, a long time resident of Martin, her own name was suggested by her grandfather, W.J. She was buried on October 6, 1972 in Paintsville, Johnson Co., KY.20  This cemetery was once known as Turkey Knob - it was their family cemetery.   Jo Ann Nelson Howard remembers that her mother, Violet Alafair Bradley Nelson, was named for her mother Almeda's servant lady named Alafair.  Violet told Jo Ann that she remembered having slept in the same bed with Alafair, their servant lady.  JoAnn Howard remembers also that the servant lady was black. Violet was buried in the old Turkey Knob area in Paintsville, KY, now known as Nelson Cemetery.
