JUNELLEN (MULLINS) HALL
1947-1995
 

Junellen (Mullins) Hall, educator and community leader, was born March 15, 1947, the daughter of Alex and Anna Martin Mullins of Kite, Ky.  She had five brothers and one sister.        

Mrs. Hall received her bachelor's degree in education from Pikeville College, her master's and Rank I from Morehead State University. She was a teacher at Carr Creek Elementary School in the 1970's. She also worked as an assistant postmaster and a Commonwealth Life Insurance Agent.                              

Mrs. Hall was involved in many community organizations.  She was chairperson of he Knott County Democratic Party, a member of he Democratic State Central Commission, served on the Boards of East Kentucky Health Services and the Kentucky River Area Development District, and chairman of the board of the Kite and  Topmost volunteer Fire Department.  she as a highly organized and dedicated person any task she undertook.  She was always willing to provide her work, and leadership when needed or asked.

She was married to Phillip R. Hall and had one daughter, Chantal. Junellen is remembered as a person who most enjoyed helping others--she was a good mother, wife, daughter, and citizen. Her passionate devotion to those around her led her community to rename their park in her honor in 1996.
