Grayson Johnson was born October 4, 1933,
a son of Mosey and
Dixie Watts Johnson in Garner, Kentucky (Watts Fork). He died
fifty-two years later. Grayson was a member of the Hindman
United
Methodist church, a member of the Lions club and veteran of the
Korean War. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and
University of Louisville School of Law. He practiced law for
twenty
five years in Hindman. He came to Hindman to raise his family
for
its quality of education. He wanted his sons to be better
prepared
for college that he was. Four of his sons graduated from
college
and he instilled in them the desire to excel and to leave the world
a
better place. He worked with the Boy Scouts and was
instrumental
in the formation of the first youth baseball program in Knott
County.
He helped many workers win compensation for
their injuries in his
law practice and many young people to be all they could be.
His
family, wife Ann Johnson; his sons Michael Johnson, an attorney
and write; Paul Jeffrey Johnson, a doctor, wife Jamie, children
Tyler,
Maddye and Shelby of Paducah; Ron Johnson, an engineer, wife
Theri and son Nicholas of Hindman; and David, a geologist, wife
