Keathley, Myrtle-Floyd County, 79, of Ivel, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at her residence.  Born Oct. 16, 1925, at Wheelwright, she was a daughter of Will and Laura Gilliam Allen. She was a homemaker.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Keathley; four brothers, Andy, Joe, bud, and Henry Allen; a sister, Josephine Adkins; and two grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Teddy Keathley of Jonesville, Mich. Billy Keathley of Jackson, Mich.; and Tommy Keathley of Betsy Layne; three daughters, Sandra Thomas of Unionville, Va., Carol Ball of Wyandotte, Mich., and Brenda Stewart of Ivel; a brother, Frank Allen of Princeton, WV; a sister, Emma Marshall of Blaine; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Keck, Barbara Ann   67, of Wolcottville died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Keck was a homemaker and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville. She had lived in the area 40 years. She loved children and had been known as a ‘‘mother of one, but mother of many.’’ She had been a ‘‘grandmother’’ to many of her relatives and neighborhood children. She was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Floyd County, Ky., to Stanley and Annie (Graham) Lazar. On April 11, 1969, in Clintwood, Va., she married Richard S. Keck Sr. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya ‘‘Missy’’ and James Sykes of Wolcottville; two stepsons and their wives, Gary Edward and Sandy Keck of Orland and Richard S. Jr. and Sandy Keck of Wolcottville; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Judy and Phil Burlew of Mongo, Dianna Smith of Washington, Ind., and Ramona and Tracy Honaker of Wolcottville; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Dora Lazar of Kentucky; a grandson, Paul Sykes; two granddaughters, Molly Sykes and Morgan Sykes; two nephews she raised and their wives, Walter and Brenda Stogner of Ohio and Steve and Kay Evans of LaGrange; two nieces she raised and their husbands, Terri and Sonny Eagle of North Carolina and Sheila and Paul Randol of Wolcottville; and several other nieces and nephews. James Tews of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Kerns, Robert E. "Butch" 54 of Xenia, went to be with his Lord Saturday,  Nov, 2, 2002 in Jackson, Ohio. He was born March 2, 1948 in Xenia the son of Robert E. Kerns Sr, and Iona (Shepherd) Kerns. Butch was employed by Twist for 30 years where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Trinity Christian Assembly where he played guitar for the church. Butch was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Kerns. King, Clarence -83, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2006. Clarence was born in Allais, Kentucky on May 28, 1922 to Harry & Ethel (Begley) King. Mr. King was retired from General Motors with 32 years of service. He is a member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple. King, Ernest -Age 93, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1912 in Insko, Kentucky to Thaxter and Nannie (Miller) King. Ernest was a factory worker at Magnode for 23 years retiring in 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Golden Fletcher King in April 1992; sons, Clyde King, 1997 and Ernest King, 2001; grandson, Steven King, 1994. He is survived by 4 sons, Wilgus (Jessie) King, Arnold (Ruth) King, Forrest (Dixie) King and Carl (Heidi) King all of Middletown; 3 daughters, Betty Drake, Nevelyn (Denver) Hembree and Wilma (Ernest) Morris all of Middletown; 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Bates and Liza Thornsberry. Sadie was a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing and Windsor Care Nursing Home. Survivors include two sons; Doyle King and Lowell King and his wife Robbin of Mt. Sterling; one daughter Evalea Amburgey and her husband Jerry of Gainesville, FL. Also, one brother, Everett Bates and Nora of Dayton, OH and one sister, Olga Slone of Kite, KY; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. King, Troy Otis -age 82, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, died on Monday, August 23, 2004, at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, after a long illness. Kinney, Mr. Ralph E.-age 57, of West Highway U.S. 60, Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, 2005 in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Mr. Kinney was born April 18, 1948, in Pike County, Ky., and is a son of the late Willard and Angeline Adkins Kinney. Ralph was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a Harley Davidson fan and loved going on benefit rides to help others. He was also of the Baptist faith.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Grant Kinney, Ervine Kinney and Millard Kinney.He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debbie May Kinney; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Derrick and Brandie Kinney of Grahn, Ky., and Tracy Kinney of Olive Hill, Ky.; one daughter, Tonya Kinney Deerfield of Olive Hill; four grandchildren, Kristen Kinney, Kaitlyn Deerfield, Kaden Deerfield and Kaylee Kinney; one brother, Mike Kinney of Olive Hill; one sister, Marie Kinney of Cleveland. Knox, Arvin, Sr.- age 70, of Kendallville died on Monday, November 24, 2008  at Hickory Creek of Kendallville.  Mr. Knox was born in Wayland, Floyd County, Kentucky on June 2, 1938 to  Howard and Ada (Hicks) Knox.  He married Nancy Jean Mapes on February 27, 1965 in Kendallville and she  survives him in Kendallville.  Arvin was employed with the City of Kendallville Street Department for 27  years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Harbor Of Love Baptist  Church in Kendallville.  Other survivors include: Son, Arvin, Jr. and Deb Knox of Kendallville.  Daughter, Susan and Ronald Godsey of Kendallville. Four grandchildren: David  Godsey, Derek Godsey, Casey Knox, and Jamie Jo Bosworth. One great  granddaughter, Sierra Godsey. Knox, Mary Elizabeth "Betty"- age 64, died on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at her residence near Wawaka, Indiana. She was born in Hindman, Kentucky on July 10, 1942 to Alton B.P. and Nancy (Cornett) Everage. Mrs. Knox graduated from Knott County Central High School in 1958 and she married Arnold Ray Knox on July 8, 1961 in Ottawa, Michigan. Arnold just recently preceded her death July 25, 2006. In earlier years, Mrs. Knox was employed with Taylor Made in Kendallville for about 13 years. She was a devoted homemaker and loved being with her family. She was also the receptionist at her daughter's beauty salon, First Impressions Salon in Kendallville. Mrs. Knox loved reading, surfing the internet on her computer, sewing, cooking & crocheting. She taught herself to knit, and loved floral and vegetable gardening. She also volunteered extensive hours with McCray Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Dorcus Circle of Trinity Church United Methodist. Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Deborah Knox of Wawaka. Daughter and son-in-law, Tawnya and Carson Strouse of Wawaka. Six grandchildren; Travis Bailey of Crystal Lake, Illinois; Travis James Knox of Kendallville; Danielle Knox , Skyler Strouse, Nathan Terry, and Taylar Knox all of Wawaka. Two sisters; Annagay and Martin Ragland of Clarksville, Tennessee and Martha Louise and Roy Downing of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Kreis, Peggy Pigman -age 67, of Wartburg, Tennessee, formerly of Redfox, Kentucky, died Friday, March 24, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents:  Farris and Ethel Sutphin Pigman; infant sister: Joyce Fern.  She is survived by her husband; Everett Kreis; two daughters: Teresa Terri Kreis and Karen Potter; two sisters: Betty Leedy and Pat Hobbs; four brothers: William Pigman, John Pigman, Ferrel Pigman and Burl Pigman; one granddaughter:  Kathryn Potter.  Funeral services were conducted Monday March 27, at 11 a.m., at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wartburg, Tennessee, with Robert Pfaff officiating.   Burial followed in the Wartburg City Cemetery, Wartburg, Tennessee.  Provided courtesy of the Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, Kentucky.

Kunkel,  Reba Sue -55, of Leburn, passed away July 16, 2007 at her home. She was born in Lackey, Kentucky on August 1, 1951 to Marion Conley and Cora Maxie Conley. Reba was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James and Truman. She is survived by 3 children: Kenneth Wade Kunkel, Marion Lynn Kunkel and Reba Michelle Fields; 3 sisters: Betty Watts, Dorothy Hale and Rita Hall; 7 brothers: Jimmy, Clyde, Paul Ancil, Mike, Roy, Darrell and Pat Conley; 4 grandsons: Adam Ryan Shrum, Kenneth Morgan Kunkel, Johnathan Wade Kunkel and Brian Deegan Fields. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007,at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Clyde "Bud" Wicker Jr. officiating. Burial followed at the Mountain Memory Gardens at Hindman, Kentucky.

Kuhn, Marilyn Shepherd ~ age 58 of Middlebury, Indiana, passed away July 14, 2011, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born February 11, 1953, in Knott Co,. the daughter of Lillie Bolen Shepherd of Hueysville and the late Jack Shepherd. She was a Retired Factory Worker for Myers and the wife of the late John Kuhn.
She is survived by 1 son: Arnold Ray Handshoe of Middlebury, IN; 1 daughter: Julie Alexander of Osceola, IN; 1 brother: Sherman Shepherd of Hueysville; 2 sisters: Carolyn Burlew of Knott Co., and Beverly "Belle" Shepherd of KY; 2 grandchildren: Keith & Logan. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home at Martin with Bethel Bolen officiating. Burial followed at the Family Cemetery at Hueysville under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin.
