Obitts, Gwen Collins -age 76 of Elyria, Ohio, died on Monday, November 15, 2004, at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center, Lorain, Ohio, after a long illness. She was born in Floyd County, Ky, the daugher of Elizabeth (Terry) Collins from Knott County, Ky. Although she resided in the Elyria area most of her life, she still has relatives in Knott County, the Terry's, Gibson's etc. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elyria for many years. She enjoyed her family, cooking, fishing and sports.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Obitts, in 1999; a son Gary, in 1974; a grandson in 1990; brothers, Glen and Clayton Collins; and her parents, Tip and Elizabeth Collins.  She is survived by a son, Shane Obitts of Elyria, Ohio; three granddaughters; and two brothers, Clyde Collins of Washington, and Desi Collins of Elyria. Olinger, Noah Age 84 formerly of Fairfield ended his earthly journey on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 4A.M. in Omaha, Nebraska where he resided with his daughter. He was a man who epitomized the values of Christianity, love, humility, kindness and generosity. He leaves behind many who benefited from his acts of kindness. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on March 30, 1922, the son of Joe and Junie (McDaniel) Olinger. Noah was a Veteran of World War II with the United States Army from 1944 to 1946; a member of the Princeton Pike Church of God; a member of the Washington Lodge #17 F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati; the Shriner's Temple and the American Legion Post #138. He was employed as a field representative for the First National Bank of Cincinnati for twenty-five years retiring in 1986. On November 4, 1939 in Radford, Virginia, he was married to Christine Weikle and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon and her husband Duane Martin of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandsons, Derek (Cindy) Olinger, Brent Martin and Bryan (Erika) Martin and two great- grandchildren, Lauren and Sean. He is also survived by five brothers, Ralph Olinger and Rev. Andrew Olinger both of Hamilton, Rev. Paul Day of New Albany, Indiana, Virgil Day of Cincinnati and William Day of Middletown; three sisters, Darla Okum of Fairfield, Mary Lou Owens of Sunman, Indiana and Daisy Belle Bowling of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Melvin Noah Olinger in 1994 and one brother, Ernest Olinger. Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 10A.M. with Rev. Andrew Olinger, Rev. Paul Day and Rev. Ron Medley officiating. Oney, Charles E. Age 65 of Middletown, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Dayton Heart Hospital. He was born December 9, 1940 in Hardburly, Kentucky to Enard Oney and Vera Oney. Charles was a cane operator for 35 years at Magnode Corp. retiring in 1998. He was a member of Poasttown First Church of God. Member of Knights of Pythias Lodge #37 where he was secretary, trustee and past chancellor and received the Golden Spur Award; member of D.O.K.K.-Amrita #122 where he was secretary; Lafayette Temple #379 where he received the highest honor; Butler County CB Club and Community Radio Watch. Oney, John    83 of Jamestown passed away Jan 23, 2004 at the VA Hospital in Dayton. Oh. He was born in Greenup, Ky June 11, 1920 the son of Samuel and Susie (Holbert) Oney. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, local contractor for several years and an employee of the Village of Jamestown for 14 years.   He is survived by his wife Jean (Sodders) Oney of Jamestown, three daughters and sons-in-law; Barb and Paul Robinson of Jamestown, Carol and James Morrison of Washington C.H., Ronda and Dave Holmes of Fort Worth Texas, son and daughter-in-laws, Michael and Teri Oney of Jamestown, eight grandchildren 15 great grandchildren. one great-great-grandchild, sister Ollie Free of Florida and several nieces and nephews.   His parents three grandchildren, three brothers and two half brothers preceded him in death. Services will be held Tuesday1:30 pm at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown where friends may call Monday from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm. Burial will be in the Silvercreek Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Jamestown, New Jasper or Cedarville Fire Dept/Emergency Squared.

Osborn, Paul Ward-age 65, of Kendallville died unexpectedly on Friday, November 7, 2008 at home. Mr. Osborn was born in Drift, Kentucky on June 21, 1943 to Forest Ward and  Myrtle Virginia (Fannon) Osborn. His mother preceded his death.  He married Patty Lou Howard on November 26, 1962 at Clintwood, Virginia. Mr.  Osborn was a machinist for about 20 years and retired from Flint & Walling  in Kendallville. Before that he was employed with Kendallville Foundry.  Paul loved spending time with his grandkids, talking with them about sports,  and the importance of their getting an education. He could fix anything and  loved to work with his hands.  Paul was loved by everyone and never had a bad word to say. He also enjoyed  helping out his neighbors, playing the guitar, following sports, especially  NASCAR racing. He also liked to work on cars and drive Mustangs. Survivors  include: His wife of 45 years, Patty Lou Osborn of Kendallville. Father, Forest  Ward Osborn of Stroh. *Husband of the late Doris Bird Osborne, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at his residence. He was born March 27, 1928 in Wheelwright, Ky., the son of the late Dewey Osborne and Eulah McReynolds Osborne. Mr. Osborne was a Retired Mine Electrician formerly employed by Inland Steel and Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of Wheelwright United Methodist Church for 53 years and served as superintendent at the Church. Mr. Osborne was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 889, Wheelwright, Ky., a Shriner, a member of the UMWA, Local 5899, a Kentucky Colonel and a Boy Scott Leader. Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Hall, Chesapeake, Va., Donna Chafin and Denise Stephens both of Prestonsburg, Ky., a brother, James H. Osborne, Prestonsburg, Ky., a sister, Janice Bradley, Waukegan, Il., four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife, Doris, three brothers, Paul Osborne, Clarence Osborne, and Donald Osborne, and a sister, Alta Burga.

Owens, Alden ~ 70, of Ashley and formerly of Wolcottville died Tuesday, October 12, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Owens had lived in this area  most of his life. He retired in 2000 after 15 years at Midwest Molding in  Wolcottville. He was born February 5, 1940, in Hindman, Kentucky, to  Aaron and Amy (Ritchie) Owens. On February 4, 1962, in Stroh he married Reva  Boggs. Surviving are his wife, Reva Owens of Ashley; four daughters and  three sons-in-law, Alda and Dave Nissen of Wolcottville, Rita Hunter of  Kendallville, Teresa and Troy Sams of Howe, and Terri and Kevin Leedy of Hudson;  two sons and daughters-in-law, Alden Ray and Norma Cochran of Auburn, and  Anthony Owens and Myra Conley of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Owens of  Wolcottville; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine  Hudson of Wolcottville; and two brothers, Howard Owens and Denny Owens, both of  Kentucky. He was born in Floyd County on January 30, 1940, to Kermit Owens and Geneva Slone Owens. He was retired from CSX Railroad Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Owens, Dustin M. -age 26 of Garrett, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  He was born May 10, 1982, in Prestonsburg, the son of Bufford and Debra Hicks Owens.  He was a Graphics Designer for the Troublesome Creek Times and student at Hazard Community College.  He was the husband of Tiffany Amelia Cody Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Bazle Owens; one grandson; 21 brothers and sisters. Owens, Elbert  72, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Knott County died Friday, Dec.27, at the Hospice of Dayton.  He was born on March 12, 1930, in Pippa Passes, Ky., a son of Elijah Owens and Nancy Short Owens.  He is survived by two daughters, Judy Owens and Inez Guillen of Lawrenceville Georgia; two brothers, Troy E. Owens of Lewisburg, Ohio, and C.B. Smith of Pippa Passes, Ky., two sisters, Velma Lovins of Leburn, Ky., and Mona Harrod of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren.  Christopher Guillen and Lauren Gillen; a host of nieces and nephews; and other close friends.  Funeral services were conducted on Monday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, Ky., with Troy El Owens officiating.  Burial followed at Reynolds Cemetery, Mallie, Ky., under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

Owens, Esther F. ~ 92, passed away at 12:50 AM on July 23, 2010 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN. Mrs. Owens was born on January 1, 1918 to William and Frankie Jane (Slone) Reynolds. She married Keen Owens on November 2, 1939, he preceded her in death July 29, 1952. She moved to Ligonier, Indiana in 1972 coming from Pippa Passes, Kentucky. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church of Hollybush, Kentucky. She was a diligent homemaker, avid quilter, gardener, and above all she was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Esther will be loved and missed by those she leaves behind. Mrs. Owens is survived by two sons, Keenis (Linda) Owens of Ligonier, Buford (Mavis) Owens of Stanton, KY; one daughter, Gladys Shepherd of Ligonier; seven grandchildren, Roberta (Troy) Arnold of Ligonier, Brenda (Michael) Smith of Ligonier, Brian (Janelle) Owens of LaOtto, Jerry "Randy" (Stella) Owens of Stanton, KY, Gary (Kalina) Gingerich of Elkhart, Zac Owens of Tampa, FL, Katie Owens of Prague, Czech Republic; 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Owens,  Joseph O. ~ passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his home. He was born July 27, 1929, in Pippa Passes to the late Elisha and Frances (Reynolds) Owens.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and graduate of the University of Kentucky, majoring in animal husbandry. He worked as an Extension Agent until 1960. From 1960-69 he taught high school math and science and from 1969-1974 he taught chemistry at Western Kentucky University. In 1974 he moved to Newark and was employed as an electronics technician at the Newark Air Force Base until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Sue (Busseni) Owens; daughters, Becky (Brad) Boyer of Thornville, Ohio and Kimberly (Tom) Matican of California; grandchildren, Noah (Nicole) Housh of California and Garrision, Payton and Addyson Boyer; great-grandson, Alden Joseph; brother, Glynn (Pauline) Owens and Clifford (Doris) Owens; sister-in-law, Dixie; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte, Minerva and Juanita; and two brothers, Charles and Scott. Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Pam Combs-Roth officiating. Owens, Larry, 62, of Clay City passed away on august 16 following an automobile accident in Coal City. He was born in Dwarf on June 2 1945, to Ralph and Beatrice Shepherd Owens. Mr. Owens was a tool and die maker for many years. He owned his own businesses in Kentucky as well as Greenwood, Indiana. He also worked for J and J Mold as a tool and die maker until retirement in the late 1990s. For several years, he and his family owned and operated a farm in Freedom, Indiana. He enjoyed drag racing at Kitley's in Indianapolis and at the Clairmont Speedway in Clairmont, Indiana. He also enjoyed participating in truck pulls and playing darts. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his long time companion, Pam Feerer, his children: Jon Owens and wife Crystil of Clay City, Christopher Owens and wife Amanda of Scottsville, Kentucky, Sandra Blankenship and husband Lonnie, also of Scottsville, Marena Rybolt of Spencer, Indiana , Deanna Cook and husband Phillip of Kentucky, and Kathrine Dyar and husband Richard of Brazil. His surviving grandchildren are Samantha Owens, Garry Holder, Stephanie Walker, Joseph, Lucas and Christina Rybolt, Dayna, Tatum, Dylan and Eric Dyar, Amanda and Angela Hoffman, Taylor Cook, Hope Owens and Jeramiah and Lena Peterson. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Valentine and husband Butch, Linda Nichols and husband Verlie and Peggy Brown.  His surviving brother is James Russell Owens. Services were held on Saturday, August 18, at the Schoppenhorts Funeral Home with John Tabasco officiating. Graveside services were conducted on Monday morning, August 20, at the Owens Cemetery in Dwarf. Owens, Robert L. Age 57 of Hamilton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 4:09 pm. He was born in East Bernstadt, Kentucky on October 30, 1948 the son of Vernon and Cora Ellen (Humphrey) Owens. Robert was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca L. (Henry Stephenson) Witt of Hamilton; a grandson, Ian Witt of Hamilton; friend and mother of his daughter, Brenda Thomas of Hamilton; two brothers, Jeffery and Eric Owens both of Hamilton; four sisters, Anna (Wayne) Shupe of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Brenda (Henry) Rinck of Hamilton, Annette (Paul) Meier of Somerville, and Verna (Richard) Kremer of Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Owsley, Rachel Risner -age 87, died June 18, 2006 at her home at Warwick Forest Assisted Living.  She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and the helping Hands Sunday School Class, whose members were very supportive in visiting and sharing with her.  Rachel's warm smile and generosity will always be remembered by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: James "Blue Grass Jim" Owsley. Survivors include two sons: Gordon Owsley and his wife, Darlene and Harold Owsley and his wife, Pat; two daughters: Geneva Matteis and her husband, Richard and Hazel Woodard and her husband, Anthony; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services conducted by Reverends Bob Robbins, Lonnie Carrell and Clarence Hilling will be held 2 p.m., Thursday at Beech Grove Baptist Church.  Internment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff and friends at Warwick Forest for their love and care.  In our mother's memory memorial contributions may be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church, P.O.
