OBITUARIES

Hall, Brother Johnathan J. - was born March the 13th, 1833, died June the 12th, 1916. Age 83 years, 2 months and 29 days. He was married to Polly Cook, sister of Elder William Cook about the year 1850. They lived together about 66 years. Unto them were born 9 children seven of them preceded Brother Hall in death only leaving two children and his broken hearted wife to mourn his loss. Brother Hall joined the Regular Baptist church in the year 1912 and was ordained as deacon of the Mallett Fork Church in the year 1913 and lived a faithful member until his death. It seemed to be his delight to attend his meeting and we have seen him clasp his hands and rejoicing many times in meeting. He went with his sons down in Perry County, Kentucky and on trying to return home to be at his meeting the first Saturday in June he took sick and failed to be at meeting and never recovered. But while the Mallett Fork Church has lost one of her faithful members and an efficient deacon and the wife and children and relatives have lost a dear friend; we are glad to say that we have no doubt but that our loss is his eternal gain. Wherefore should we weep dear brethren and sisters, wife, children, and friends; he can not return to us but by the help of God we can all meet brother Hall in heaven above where sorrow, sickness death nor parting will ever come.
