Wanted his fellowship at the Mallet Fork Church. He wasn't able to be baptized in the natural stream of water that flows down the river stream, but we feel that he was baptized with the fire and holy ghost essential for the saving of the soul and how his soul we feel is resting around the throne of God in that beautiful white home. He told us about Jesus taking him to a few days ago, he is now waiting for the redemption of the body when some sweet day the same Jesus took him to that beautiful home will cause the sleeping dust to come forth from the grave in which he will lay, and it will be a spiritual body and it will unite with that sweet soul in the air and go back to heaven to rest for ever more in peace where no suffering sorrow or trouble can come, now to the lonesome and broken hearted! wife and children of Brother Robert, if you want to meet daddy again you must make daddy's God your God and obey as he did. Now we feel our toss here on earth is heaven's gain. Written by Elder Alonzo Watts, Carr Creek, Ky.

Back, Dulcena S.-It is with a sad and aching heart I will try to write the obituary of my darling angel,  Sister Dulcena Summer Back was born January 4, 1919 and departed this life December16, 1960, making her stay on earth 41 years, 11 months and 12 days. She was married to Patrick Back, October 19, 1934. To this union was born, two children, Donald and Carol. Dulcena joined the Old Regular Baptist Little Home Church on Breedings Creek and was a faithful member who went to church regularly as long as she was able. She enjoyed fellowship with the brethren and Sisters and liked to hear the old songs of Zion and was a strong believer in the Lord.
A loving arm from us is gone
A voice so sweet is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled
We've known so much of happiness
We've had our cup of joy
The memory is one gift of God-That death cannot destroy.
Let not your heart be troubled. Yea believe in God believe also in me. In my (Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would; have told you. I go; and prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive' you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also. St. John 14. Written by her Sister, Alta Back

Bowens, Arminta - was born Nov. 7, 1904, deceased this life Dee. 30, 1960. Her stay on earth being 56 years, 1 month, and 23 days. She was the daughter of Brother Charlie Madden and Aunt Sally Madden. She was married to Delza Bowens, July 4, 19— To this union was born, six daughters to whom sister Mint came to be a model mother unto them. She continued her normal activities of life until six weeks before her death. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church over 20 years ago and lived a true and faithful member the remainder of her life. She came to toe a great up build and assistance to the church. God blessed her to live and see all of her children grown and have homes of their own. She bore her afflictions with much patience and continued to express her faith in God. She told us that God has visited her on her bed of afflictions in both visions and dreams and had caused her to have no fear of death. When death finally came she quietly went to sleep in the arms of Jesus. She has left here in this world to mourn for her: her husband, Delza Bowens. six daughters: Inez Pratt, Carr Creek, Ky.; Irene Cornett, Morehead, Ky.; Francis Parks, Savannah, TN.; Patsy Jo Montgomery, Louisville, Ky.; Peggy Jean Fannin, Louisville, Ky.; Jewel Dean Gaunee, Louisville, Ky.; Also 13 grandchildren and 3 sisters and 3 brothers; also a great host of friends mourn the passing of Sister Mint. Brother Delza has given up a kind, loving companion. The daughters have given up a sweet, loving mother. Her friends have given up a great neighbor. The Old Regular Baptist Church has given up a good strong number but our loss is heaven's gain. May we all meet her around the throne of God to live together forever.
Elder Steve Pratt.

Day, Susan Brown-It is with much sadness and great sorrow, that we attempt to write an obituary of a loving wife, and affectionate mother. Susana Brown Day, the daughter of William E. and Polly 'Brown, born Feb. 24,1826, departed this life Feb. 11, 1961, making her stay on earth 64 years, 11 months and 7 days. Susana was married to Anthony C Day, Sr., July 2, 1913, to this union was born (7) seven children', three boys and four girls: Clyde, William Edward, Anthony, Jr., Thelma, Dalna, Janette, and Drucilla. Anthony Jr., preceded her in death some three years. Susana joined the Big Cowan Church of Old Regular Baptist July 23, 1939, and lived a devoted Christian life, attending her church regular as long as she was able. She had been in ill health for some four years, though bearing her affliction with great patience. Two nights before her passing she called her husband and children to her bedside, and told us she had to go, and that she was only going home to rest, peaceful rest, which is great consolation. We hear God's holy scripture saying, blessed are they that die in the Lord, henceforth, yea, saith the spirit, they shall rest from their labor. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, six children, 12 grand children, eight great grand children, two sisters, two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. We feel that mother is sweetly sleeping in the arms of Jesus and our loss is her eternal gain. Dearest mother thou hast left us, A voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled.—The Family.

Fugate, Gabe-I will try, if it is the Lord's will, to bless and guide me in so doing, to write an obituary of my dear Brother Gabe Fugate. He was born March 28, 1890, deceased this life November 10, 1960. He was united in June 1909 to the daughter of lawyer Jason Richie, of Talcum!, Ky. To this union (was born one son, James Fugate. Sister Jimimey and his son James both preceded him in death which left him heart broken and lonely. He never did any good after their death. He was a handicapped man only having one arm but he was a good provider for his family and he was clever and free hearted at his home no one left his home hungry while Sister Jimimey and James were living. You could hear them all singing the old songs of Zion while passing their home. Bro. Gabe was a God fearing man and attended church as regular as any member. He never failed to contribute to the church for the upkeep of it. He loved the Old Regular Baptist. He was always at the church house when church began. Bro.Gabe, on his dying bed, told a great experience to Elder Frank Fugate and Elder Dan Gibson, but he never had the privilege in being emerged in water, but the news he told from, that foreign country makes me rejoice in believing without a doubt that he had already received baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. So I feel our loss is Heaven's gain. I know I will and do miss him not only I, but the church and community also. He loved little orphan children and generally kept one or two as long as his companion lived. Gabe has two brothers and one sister yet living, Richard Fugate and Jim Fugate and Judy Fugate, his sister. So children you who have not made peace with God, now is the time to get ready to meet him for after death there is no repentance. Written by a bereaved Bro., Richard Fugate.

Maddin, Charlie-I will with a sad and a fond memory try to write the obituary of my beloved husband, sad that he is gone and glad I can say he was a good and kind companion. He was born Jan. 19, 1884, deceased this life May 25, 1960. He was 76 years, 4 months and 19 days old. He was the son of Peter and Jane Maddin; he was married to Bell Amburgey in 1910; and to this union was born 4 children, Devada died in infancy; 2 boys, Edgar Maddin, Jackson, Mich.; Odis, Red Fox, Ky., and one daughter, Dalma Ward, Marion, Ind.; eleven grand children and 4 great grand children. He had 3 brothers, John Maddin, Colson, Ky., Will and Amos, both dead; 8 sisters, Sarah and Cora, both living; Nancy, Rebecca, May, Susan and Polly, all deceased. Charlie was later married to Pollie C. Combs in September, 1954. To this union there was no children. He belonged to the Little Home Church for a number of years, so I took my letter from the Old Carr Church to Little Home to be with him, ours is the Old Regular Baptist Church which we were both so proud of and enjoyed going there together. He loved his church, his home and his many friends. He was stricken with heart attack Sept. 24, 1959, and was sick for 8 months. Part of the time he was in the hospital. He was operated on for cancer in February. He lived some over three months. The day be died he went to his bottom below the house and looked at his corn and walked about the place. He ate a very good supper and said he could eat more but it was already hurting him. I had to do the evening chores and while I was out, death struck him,. After I came in he called me twice. I sent my daughter for help and he died with me holding his head and hand. Just as the daughter with Genny Adams came in the house. I have missed him so much. Tho my loss is Heaven's gain. He liked to talk of Heavenly things and We would set for hours at a time and talk. Written by has wife, Pollie Maddin.

Smith, Nancy-With sad and lonesome feeling, I'll try in the best way I know how to write the obituary of my dear sister in the Lord, Nancy Smith. She was born October 28, 1876. Her stay on earth was 84 years, 3 months, and 15 days, and departed this life June 9, I960. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Marian Combs Stacy. She was married to Alex Smith and to this union three children were born. Her husband and all of her children preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss 12 grandchildren, 1 sister Marian Smith, R. R. 2, Hazard, Ky. and one brother, Walter Stacy, of Clay County and friends who loved her dearly. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church September 20, 1952, and was baptized the following day. She was faithful to the day her Lord called her from the earth to join Him. We all miss her so much in the Church. But we believe our loss is Heaven's gain. Written by a sister in the Lord, Lizzie Combs.

Whitaker, Soloman Haden-It is with a sad heart I will 'try to write an obituary of a dear Brother by the request of the family. Soloman Haden Whitaker was born May 4, 1898, deceased this life May 2, 1960. He was the son of George and Rebecca Whitaker. Later in life he met and married Lona May Richardson. To this union nine children were born. One preceded him in death in infancy. Eight are left to mourn his passing, together with his good wife. He was very much devoted to his wife and children and was loved much by them. He professed a hope in Christ many years ago but never did join any church but he was an ardent believer in the Old Regular Baptist Church and oft times talked to me about doing his duty. He really believed in order and clean fellowship in this old church here and had wonderful understanding in church discipline. He leaves two whole brothers and, a sister: H. B. Whitaker of Waynesburg, Ky.; Robert Whitaker, of Hindman; and Sarah Jane Massey, of Richmond, Va.; a half brother, Lee Dixon, of Littcarr. Brother Soloman always loved to feed and keep God's little children and his entire conversation was on things eternal. So I want to say to his children that are left behind, those of you that haven't repented, if you ever hope to see Daddy again, after this life is over you must repent for I feel that his soul is with Jesus in whom, there is everlasting peace. His life he lived here 1 feel showed the great consolation to love and you children too that heart were never fail him over there. His son told me when his good wife reached him he could not speak to her but kissed her and pointed up, so I feel like he saw his future home where no heart attacks will ever come and his suffering will be over. He is now asleep or his frail body is across from his home where he himself selected for his final resting place here on earth and how sad it is to go back to his humble home and not see his sweet smiling face but I feel like I'll 'meet him over there where we can ever praise our God forever and forever and too Tonar I want to say may God help you to do your duty for I feel like it would be well as Brother is gone now and you have such a wonderful family of children that's interested in this old church. So may God help us all to do his will that we can be able to go to heaven when we have to quit the walks of life here. Yours in hope of eternal life, H. B. Whitaker
