Caudill, Roger Dale ~ was borned May 6th 1947 was killed in action in
Vietnam April 29, 1967 making his stay on earth 19 years 11 months and 23 days.
He was borned at Whitesburg, Kentucky to Mildred Caudill Bedwell. He was brought
up in the home of Curtis Caudill and Mary Caudill deceased as their own son.
After he got out of high school he went to Venice, IL. and worked about a year.
He got his call to the armed forces, and left for the army on August the 2nd
1966. After his Grandma died whom he called mom we could see a great change in
him. We were told by one of his friends that he went to the grave of his mom as
he called her and got down and begged the Lord to come and get him and take him
to live with his mom we were all so told by another of his friends that when he
was home just before he was shipped over seas that Roger Dale was telling him
how he ought to live and he ask him why he was talking that way to him and Roger
Dale told him I won't be back. We believe by his talk and the change we' could
see in him that he had made peace with God and has just moved out of a land of
trouble to a place of peace and rest but yet we miss his sweet letters he sent
back every week. Miss him in our home he was always begging me to don't worry
Dad but I did worry and still do, and I guess that I will as long as I live. I
know that Roger Dale can't come back to be with us here on earth but I feel I'll
meet him again where we won't' have to part any more where there won't be any
war to, take our loved ones from us. May God be with the boys that are over in
Vietnam in his passing he left many friends to morn the loss of him he was loved
by all who knew him.
Written by a Heart Broken Grand Father Elder Curtis Caudill.

Early in life she met and married William Caudill to this union was born 2 sons her husband and both sons preceded her in death. Later in life she married Kelly Hogg and to this union was born 2 sons and 4 daughters. They are Blackburn Hogg, Lee Hogg, May Boggs and Panny Day all of Kingscreek, Ky. and Eulah Miller, Gauly Bridge, W. Va. and Millie Wright of Lawrenceburg, Ind. Also 2 stepsons Hirom Hogg and Coy Hogg and 1 step daughter all of Gauley Bridge, W. Va. Also surviving her are 76 grand children and 82 great grand children as well as a host of other relatives and friends. On the 4th Sunday in Aug. 1909 she joined the Big Cowan Church of Old Regular Baptists and was a true and faithful member until the Lord called her home from her earthly toils. The last few years of her life she was very sick but she attended her church as much as she could. She endured her sickness with much patience and one night the Brothers and Sisters gathered at her home to have meeting for her and she seemed to enjoy it so much. She told us that she was willing and ready to do what ever the Lord would have her do. If it was his will wanted her to. Before she died she wrote a little poem to the Church and also named the Bro. Preachers that she wanted to preach her funeral. They were Eld. Ellis Banks, Eld. Troy Shepard, Eld. Clarence Dixon and Eld. H.B. Reedy. And she signed her name and said By But not forever I hope. Written at the request of her children. By an unworthy Bro. in the Lord I hope Bro. A. J. Fields.
Mullins, Sister Agnes ~ was born June 22, 1933. She deceased this life March 10, 1965. She was the daughter of Elder Mart Patrick and Sister Luna Patrick. Brother Mart preceded her in death. Sister Agnes was married to Brother Iva Mullins and to this union was born four children. One preceded her in death, a son, Lester Mullins. She leaves here to mourn for her, her husband, Brother Iva Mullins, her three daughters, Sharon Kay, Maxine and Laura Marie Mullins. Also her Mother, Sister Luna Patrick, also two sisters Elsie Ritchie and Eltra Hicks. Also a great host of friends, and relatives. She joined the Little Rose Church of Old Regular Baptist in August 8, 1961 and lived the remainder of her life in the old church. She was a faithful member and attended her church regularly always, inviting and begging the people to go home with them and eat with them. Every one who came to know her soon became to her a great friend to her and her husband. She was blessed with a wonderful voice and loved to sing the old songs of Zion. We greatly miss her in the old church for, her presence , as will as her voice in singing. She will long be remembered by every one that knew her but we feel that our loss is Heavens gain. May we all meet her around the throne of God where we can sing praises together to the God that does all things well. Steve Pratt
Ritchie, James ~ It with a sad and aching heart I will try to write the obituary of my dear beloved husband James (Durd) Ritchie. He was known by all as Durd Ritchie and was the son of Uncle Bill and Aunt Kate Ritchie of Clear Creek Baptist and was also the Deacon of the Church. James Durd was born Feb. 17, 1894 and deceased this life May 11, 1967 making his stay here on earth seventy three years three months and twenty-three days. Early in life he met and married Jane Napier and to this union bom three children one boy Ivan who preceded him in death and two girls are still living Margaret Erickson of Mich, and Sarah Slone of Hindman, Ky. Then in 1944 his wife Jane preceded him death, and later in life he met and married Zillah Young, and in 1962 they both went into the Church. Although he professed a hope a long time ago he did not join until his wife Zillah joined then he said he could not stay out any longer, and they both were baptized together. Oh, what a wonderful life we had together from that day on we were so happy. Oh, he had proved his life for many years and no one doubted him and wondered what was holding him out, but he felt he belonged but hadn't put on the whole armor was all I can say. He was just as devoted before as after he did join. But he got more blessings from then on, and we went to church every weekend as long as our health would permit then we went as often as we could which was most of the time until God called him home. Well now my life is a sad and lonesome life without him. But by the grace of God I hope to meet him in the great beyond where parting is no more. So good people, friends and neighbors if you ever hope to meet Durd you must all repent and prepare your souls for a glorious crown to wear for I know his soul is resting under the altar of God for the redemption of a glorified body. Oh what wonderful evening we had in our living room with the good brothers and sisters discussing the old church and its affairs. But now I know them days are over for me, and how I do miss them. But people pray for peace and love to continue on among us. God is not the author of strife and confusion. So please let God come in and rest among us with love and fellowship and all try, to meet him in the great beyond is my prayer. Now that James Durd is gone he has left to mourn his wife Zillah, two daughters, nine grandchildren and a host of friends and the old church has lost a faithful member and a great strength in many ways. So lets try to meet him. Written by his wife Zillah Ritchie
