Bedwell, Robert Lee ~ In memory of our beloved son, Robert Lee Bedwell.. On
June 19, 1951 a beautiful son was borned to Spence and Mildred Bedwell. And on
the morning of February 26, 1964 God needed another flower to decorate his
throne. He was a wonderful joy in our home and we miss him with all our hearts.
But I know my Lord loved him as he loves even little flowers he has here on this
low ground of sorrow. He left four brothers and three sisters and his mother and
father to mourn for him. Son we miss you but by the grace of God we will meet
again.
Written by a broken hearted father and a brother in hope, Spencer
Bedwell

Caudill, Atha Hampton ~ born June 23, 1902. She departed this life October 7, 1967, being 65 years 3 months and 15 days old. She was the daughter of John and Ranie Hampton. Early in life she met and married David D. Caudill in 1920. To this union four children were born, all girls. Edith Caudill of Jeremiah, Ky.; Hester Caudill Blair of Dayton, Ohio; Arizona Caudill Wysong of Dayton, Ohio; Anna Lou Caudill Yates of Richmond, Ind. and a lonely husband are left to mourn her loss. Also 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Atha joined the Doty Creek Church of the Old Regular Baptist the 2nd Sunday in September 1935 and lived a consecrated life until death. The church has lost a strong member. She was a bright and shining light to the community in which she lived always filling her seat in the church and she loved her church so good. But God said Atha you have served your duty well here upon earth, come on home, you have suffered enough down there and she quietly and peacefully fell asleep in the arms of her Jesus who spoke peace to her soul many years ago. And I want to say to her blessed children if you haven't repented of your sins put your trust in Jesus, the one Mother trusted in and the same one that saved your sweet Mother will save you if you will repent and be borned again. And to the lonely husband, I don't know your condition, but look to God who is able to comfort you in your lonely hours, you'll have to spend without that good companion. And to her brothers and sisters, I feel you all have already made the preparation to meet Sister again in that world where no sickness nor pain can ever enter. So we feel that you loss is her eternal gain. Written by a brother in hope, H.B. Whitaker

July 17, 1888 being 79 years 8 months and 24 days old at her passing away. She
passed from this life on March 10, 1.968 with last words, "How good it is to see
the Lord." And passed on. She was a member of the Little Dry Fork Church and was
a faithful member until she got past- going with her sickness. She leaves the
following children: Clayton Combs of Batesville, Ind.; James Carter Combs of
Harrison, Ohio and Cleaon Combs of Whitesburg, Ky. and Wesley Combs of
Whitesburg, Ky. and two sisters, Eva Ingram of Whitesburg, Ky. and Reeda Tyree
of Whitesburg, Ky. and one brother Amos Roark of Byrdstown, Tenn. She had many
grandchildren and a host of friends that will miss her.
Why do we mourn departing friends? Or shake at death's alarm?
Tis but the Voice that Jesus sends To call her to his arms.

Gayheart, Rosa ~ It is with a sad and aching heart I will try to write a short obituary of my dear mother Rosa Gayheart, who passed away April the 25th 1968. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Combs Grigsby. Mother was born November the 12th, 1889. Her stay here on earth was 78 years 5 months and 13 days. And also a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She joined the Old Regular Baptist church and was baptized tine 2nd Sunday in October in 1952. She was a faithful member, never missed many Sundays going to church, until the last two until of her life. She enjoyed going to church, and being with her brothers and sisters, and her many, many I friends. All who knew her loved 1 it-1 clearly Her doors were always open to everybody. She was a devoted wile, and a dear mother. Her children has lost a dear Mother who loved them dearly. The church has lost a faithful member. There is a seal empty that can never be filled. She look her fellowship with the Little Clear Fork Old Regular Baptist Church which she loved so dear. In her passing her children have lost a dear Mother, The church a faithful and a well loved member, and the community a well loved citizen. Everybody that knew her loved her dearly. I think I can well say all these losses are heaven's gain. I feel like she is gone to eternal rest. I feel like if Mother could speak to us, she would say, Children, and friends weep not for me. I have gone home to rest with Jesus. Written by a lonely daughter, Tallia Smith
Hays, Wilson ~ was born in Wise County, Virginia on May 29, 1865. He died in Letcher, Ky- on April 28, 1968, being 102 years and eleven months old. Early in life at the age of 21 years he was married to Matilda Jane Sturgill also of Wise County, Virginia. To this union ten children were born, five sons and five daughters. He is survived by five children: three sons, Henison of Ohio, John M. of Hazard, Ky. and Woodrow of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two daughters, Sarah Wilson of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Urilla Salyers of Letcher, Ky., where he resided at the time of his death. He came to this section of Letcher County in 1922. He worked as a coal miner, logger, R.R. Construction and farmer until 1935, when his age prevented his working on public work. Proceeding him in death were his wife Matilda, two children, (girl and boy in infancy) also Rosie Franklin, and Cindy who have been dead several years. He was married to Matilda Sturgill about seventy-five years at her death, and was a good husband and father. Besides their ten children they have 63 grandchildren and several great grand children and great-great grandchildren. So many nice things could be said about our Dad by friends, neighbors and family. But the most wonderful thing any of us could ever hear from him was how he loved the- Lord and his desire to go to be with him. For almost 50 years, he has walked with the Lord, his faith never wavering, and as he neared the end of this life seemed to grow stronger in the hope of eternal life. He loved his church and all the brothers and sisters and no one could have been more faithful in attendance until he was too ill to go. We know his gentle presence will be missed but our loss is his gain. We should all remember his council and obey God's word and prepare in this life to meet him again. The family
Huff, Sarahbell, Sister ~ was born January 2, 1894, departed from this life June 10, 1968, making her stay here on earth 74 years 8 months and 8 days. In early life she was married to Troy Muff and to this union was born seven children all living, Russell, Coy, Vallas, Lora, Elman, Elax and Carson. Sister Sarahbell joined the Mt. Olive Church of Old Regular Baptist in the year of 1949 and I feel lived a close and obedient life until death. For several months before Death came, she had been badly afflicted, but seemed to bear her suffering with much patience and humbleness. Many more good things could be said about Sister Sarahbell's humble life that she has lived here but I fear that it would make this obituary too long. So I will close by saying to her family that is left here to mourn her loss, if you want to meet Mother again you must look to that same God that Mother went to. Pridemore, Lemuel ~ was born March 2, 1905, passed from this life August 26, 1967, making his stay on earth 62 years 5 months and 24 days. He also was ordained as a deacon in 1962 and worked faithful until death. Now, I want to say to the children, if they want to meet daddy again they must fall out with sin and repent and live for Jesus, we are not going to say farewell forever. It's farewell for a little while. For we by the grace of God will meet you in Heaven, where there will be no more sad partings, sorrow nor pain. And we can praise God forever more. Marion was received into the Mt. Olive Church the 1st Saturday in September, 1935. And was ordained deacon in 1936, and ordained Elder in 1941. And later became moderator of this church and remained until death. Bro. Marion lived a close and consecrated life and always stood for a clean church, stood on the solid foundation. He fell like a soldier, he died at his post, and it is hoped the life that he has led before his family, friends and neighbors will be a loud calling to them because it is believed that he has gone to an upper and better world to live in peace and happiness forever. And to those that are left behind, if you want to see him again, make peace with God in this life. Written by Elder Ernest Smith
Slone, Bro. Moral ~ a son of Isom B. Slone and Sarah J. Owen Slone, was born March 7, 1890. He was joined in wedlock to Nancy June Slone September 18, 1906. She was a daughter of Andy Slone and Nancy Adams Slone. Nancy Jane was born June 8, 1891. Unto them were born 9 children, 5 boys and 4 girls, all lived to manhood and womanhood. All are married. Eight are still living at this date. One son died the 24th day of December 1935 at the age of 18 years. He had just been married 7 weeks. His name was Maynard Slone. He left such evidence we have no doubt but what he is resting in a better world. The last words he spoke, he said to his mother , I will change worlds before much longer. My home is in heaven, good bye. By reason of age and health, I don't think I'll be here much longer. After I am gone, I want the preaching Brothers that is in order and fellowship with the Mt. Olive Church at Slone Fork, Garner, Ky. to preach over my body 2 choice songs, "The Time Is Swiftly Rolling on" and "The Gospel Highway." I also want the 6th verse of the 34th chapter of Psalms read over my body. I do not know but I feel and believe that verse will fit my case, then I feel I will be out of all my trouble but not until then. Morrel Slone, a man that believed that God has given every sane-minded person an equal chance and that all can, if they will, except that chance believing in Jesus with all their heart forsake sin, repent, and be born again and go to that heavenly country that is prepared for everyone that love and fear the Lord. Written by Bro. Moral Slone

attend church due to sickness but he really enjoyed being at meetings and wanted
meetings at home as often as he could get it. He was a miner until he got
disabled to work in 1956. We think the home hasn't been the same but we feel our
loss is heaven's gain. So children if you want to meet daddy again you must
