Anderson, Sarah-With a sad heart I will try to write the obituary of my dear mother, Sarah Anderson. She was born September 17, 1886 and deceased from this life November 12, 1968, making her stay here on earth 82 years, one month and 12 days. She was the daughter of John and Adline Bentley of Neon, Kentucky. She was married to James Anderson April 18, 1900 and to this union was born 13 children, seven girls and six boys. Conley, Chester, and Lonnie Preceded her in death, this leaves 10 children to mourn her loss, they are: Van Anderson, Litt Carr, Ky.; Alvin and Rudall, Brinkley, Ky,; Lillie Hylton, Litt Carr, Ky,; Rosie Wright, Neon, Ky,; Pricie Bentley, Jenkins, Ky,; Bazel Anderson, Norwood, Ohio; Hazel Pittman, Allen Par, Mich,; Cela Harvath, Allen Park, Mich,; Vorley Anderson, Brinkley, Ky,; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren,. She also left many friends to mourn her loss. She seemed to love everybody and she would always welcome everyone in her home. She told her daughter-in-law, Stella Anderson, of a dream some time ago she had, she felt was of the Lord, traveling with Alonzo Watts. Mother we hope to meet you in heaven where it will be peace and happiness.

Hampton, Ranie Caudill-It is with a sad and unworthy feeling, I will try to write an obituary of a dear sister in the Lord. Ranie Caudill Hampton was borned November 27, 1892 and departed this life November 28, 1968, making her stay here on earth 76 years and one day. She was the daughter of the late David D. and Bettie Caudill. In early life she met and married Alamander Hampton and to this union were born 8 children: Laura Caudill of Jeremiah, Ky., Lucy Brown of Smithsboro, Ky., Lois Back of Cincinnati, Ohio; Clifton Hampton of Kodak, Kentucky; Mertie Caudill of Cincinnati, Ohio; Emogene Banks of Dearborn, Michigan; Bettie Lou Morton of Fairfield, Ohio and Clarence Hampton Deceased. Also 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one brother, Rich Caudill to mourn her loss. I feel the children has lost a loving mother and the father a loving companion and the vacancy in the home can never be filled. Sister Ranie Joined the Doty Creek Church the 2nd weekend in November 1935 and was baptized the 2nd of December in 1935. She lived a Christian life, her walks and conversation proved to the world she was no more of the world. She was loved by all that knew her, so children if you ever expect to see mother again you must repent. If there is any that hasn't made peace with the Lord today is the time to start. She lived to see two of her blessed children walk out and join the church, and I know she rejoiced over them. I could say on but I feel her life speaks louder than anything I could say.

Mancie, Allie-was born May 3 1922 and died October 26 1968. She was married to Bill Ashley in 1942. four children were born to this union, Georgia Dale, James Cecil, Harry Lauter and Adrian Lee. Her husband preceded her in death in 1952. Adrian Lee also preceded her in death at the age of 6 weeks. Later she was married to Garrett Herald, there were no children born to this union. Mancie joined the Little Bethlehem Baptist church on July 26, 1968, three months before her death. Just before she joined the church she made peace with her Lord. She woke her sister Verdie up praying her sleep. Verdie was standing the door, Mancie opened her eyes and said, "they took my Lord from me." she thought she was carrying the Lord in her arms and a man took him from her and ray away with him. She was running after  him begging him to give him back to her. She told him she would get him another one. She told her mother she would get her Lord back and we feel that she did. Just before she joined the church she was pointing to the wall and smiling. Her sister Melba asked her what she was looking at, she said, "That Man." When Melba said "what man, " Mancie answered, "The one

Smith, Bertha Shepherd-was born June 4, 1897 and died May 8 1969. She was married to Bob Smith on December 12, 1922. Five infants preceded her in death; her husband, Bob of Day, Ky.; a son, Charles, a daughtter-in0-law and one grand-daughter of Indianapolis, Indiana; a host of friends and relatives and brothers and sisters in the church mourn Sister Bertha's death. Sister Bertha was baptized into the fellowship of the Big Leatherwood Church the first Sunday in July 1941. She came by letter to the Big Cowan Church May 27 1961, and remained a faithful member until her death. She asked her husband to counsel her family and prayed for the churches to prosper and to live closer to God. Her desire was that there would be more love and fewer divisions among the brothers and sisters in the churches. We greatly miss Sister Bertha's absence in the Big Cowan Church, but feel she has exchanged her cross for the bright and beautiful crown all Christians hope to attain at the end of life's' weary journey.

Sparkman, John J.-departed this life January 17, 1968 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Hatmaker in Dayton, Ohio. He had been in poor health for the past years. He lived on this earth 83 years, 5 months and 17 days. Brother John was a member of the Old Carr Church 47 years having joined the 4th Saturday in July 1927.  Brother John was ordained as a minister of the church in 1954. He also served as clerk of the church for 17 years, he was also asst. moderator. All of these services were served faithfully until the end. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Anna Mae Hatmaker of Dayton, Ohio; one son, Ernest Sparkman of Hazard, Ky.; 3 grandsons, Greg Hatmaker, Faron and Shane Sparkman and a host of friends. If Brother John ever had an enemy, or ever did anyone wrong, it was never made known. He had a very definite feeling near the end that his days here were short. Just a few days before he died, due to his extremely poor health, he asked the Lord to show him how much time he had left and the Lord showed him his days were few. On numerous occasions near the end, he asked his children and grandchildren to meet him in Heaven. So we feel that Brother John is resting in peace around the throne of God, and our loss here on earth is Heaven's gain. Now children, obey Daddy's advice he has given and by and by some day you can meet him up in Heaven.
