Beverly, Bertha Kelly-was born December 18, 1918, deceased this life August 3, 1983; being 64 years, 7 months and 16 days here on earth. Left here to mourn the absence of this blessed Sister are two sisters; Ollie Jent and Nellie Kelly. Also two brothers -Abel Kelly and Elmber Kelly. Also a great host of nephews, nieces and aunts and uncles as well as many friends. One child preceded her in death. She joined the United Baptist Church and remained in full fellowship the last 35 years of her life. She lost her eye sight and was blind the last 15 years of her life. She suffered a lot with her affliction and bore them well. She was unable to take care of herself at home so she spent the last 15 years in a home for the afflicted or in her sister's home for a while. Everyone that knew her, loved her for she was so kind and sweet. When we would go to see her we felt so helpless because there was nothing we could do to help. The good Lord called her out of this painful troublesome world to a land where the blind can see, the lame can walk, the deaf can hear and the dumb can talk, and all will be peace and love and joy. Now we can all meet together there if we will obey the Lord.

Dixon, Fanny-I will try by the help of God to write the obituary of Sister Fanny Dixon. Sister Dixon was born September 16, 1901 and passed from this life March 19, 1985, making her stay here on this earth 83 years. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Blakely Emmert. She was married to the late Elder Arthur Dixon September 20, 1919; and to their union was born three sons: Joseph, Conway, KY; Henry, Mt. Vernon, KY; and George, Southfield, Michigan. Also seven daughters: Elsie Banks, Grace Martin, Julie Martin, Martha Bullock, all of Mt. Vernon, KY; Edith Boston, Grantsburg, IL; Mable Debord Roe, Lexington, KY; and Stella Sheldt of Cincinnati, Ohio. She leaves 10 children, 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild to mourn her loss. Brother Arthur preceded her in death January 6, 1970. Sister Dixon was a member of the Crab Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church for many years. Brother Arthur and Sister Fanny served the Church as Deacons for many years. Sister Dixon was very sick for the last years of her life; but, we believe she has gone where sickness can't come. She is resting from her labor in Heaven, just waiting for the redemption of the body there both soul and body will be with the Lord for ever more. So to those that are left behind, if you have never made peace with God, you must repent and be born again if you shall ever see what it looks like in Heaven.
Your Friend, Elder Murl F. Caudill

Everage, George W.- was born September 28, 1908, deceased this life April 8, 1985, making his stay on earth 76 years, 6 months and 10 days. Left here to mourn the loss of a dear husband, is his wife Mary Stidham Everage, who has helped him so much in his sickness and terrible pain. Also two daughters are left here to mourn the loss of a dear Father, Laura Cornett and Beaulah Mae Short, one step son, Oscar Cornett, one step daughter Elizabeth Hudson. Also 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also a great host of friends and relatives, and his Brothers and Sisters in the church, will long remember Brother George Everage. In 1930 Brother George married Sister Nancy Mullins Cornett and she preceded him in death in 1969. He then married Mary Stidham and lived with her until death called him away. Somewhere along the highway of life Brother George got in trouble over his sins and came to fully realize his need of a saviour. He went to God in prayer and continued there until he found relief for his soul • He came to The Little Rose Church and told us what great things the Lord had done for him and ask for fellowship with us. March 8, 1953 he was baptized into full fellowship and has been a great help and faithful member to the church. As long as he was able to come, he filled his seat regularly and always begged the people to go home with him. It would be impossible to number the amount of people that he has fed at his table, free of charge and glad to have them there. He is one of the last of the old time mountain men that kept the welcome mat out at all time? Nothing will ever replace them. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and was so kind to little children. He loved the old church, he loved good preaching and singing and we had many good meetings in his home. He loved to sing the old songs of Zion. I believe he is gone to meeting now that he will sing and enjoy life forever. Though we miss him very much, I say to his dear wife and children, strive and pray with all your heart to meet him in a better world.

Tackett, Lula-On December 15, 1903 LULA was born into the home of Charlie and Minerva Justice in the state of Virginia. When she grew to womanhood she met and married Dewey Tackett, To this couple God sent eleven children: Marshall Tackett who preceded her in death, Civil-ene Hendricksen, Evelyn Owens, Alfred Tackett, Carma Payne, Norma Whitaker, Barkley Tackett, Glenn Tackett, Wanda Eldridge, Stanley Tackett and Arlene Ward. Dad died 12 years ago leaving Mom alone. Most of the last two years Mom made her home with her daughter, Wanda Eldridge. Wanda did her best to care for Mom and meet her needs and wants. Many years ago Mom felt the need for a savior and called upon Him while He was near. She went home to her friends with the great news and became a member of the Powell Church of Old Regular Baptists. She was a strong believer in the old time way and often gave good advice to her children and others. Her life was a light and leaves little doubt that she has gone to rest. She later moved her church membership to the Pilgrim's Home Church at Milan, Indiana. On March 4, 1985 the death angel came her way and though the doctors worked to revive her, God had called her home to rest. Her trials and troubles are over. If any have not made peace with God, set out today with a resolve to make Mom's God your God and you can meet her in that peaceful world. Mom also leaves 31 grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Brown and a brother-Charlie Justice.

Whitaker, Beatrice Caudill-It is with sadness and loneliness, that 1 will try to write the obituary of my wonderful mother-in-law, Beatrice Caudill Whitaker. She was born August 6, 1924 to William H. and Cinda Adams Caudill. On July 5, 1947, she married Edgar Whitaker. This union was blessed with two wonderful children, Edgar, Jr. and Beatrice Gail. Mom passed away February 10, 1984 after suffering from cancer for 15 months. 'After her passing, the sparkle seemed to go out of our community. Left to mourn her are her husband, Edgar Whitaker, her son and daughter-in-law, Edgar and Sharon Whitaker, her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Warren Roark, her father, Willie H. Caudill, her brother, General Caudill, 3 grandchildren: Lance Whitaker, Tami Roark and Adam Roark and her mother-in-law, Lona R. Whitaker. She also leaves aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and friends who miss her greatly. Mom was the type of person who never met a stranger. She made anyone who met her feel welcome and loved. Mom never joined a church here on earth, but a short while before she died she told of a beautiful vision the Lord bestowed on her. She felt she was ready to go. We miss you, Mom, but we feel you are in a much better place.
Written with love by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Whitaker

Witt, Elder John Wheeler-was born the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Witt on September 4, 1901. Early in life he was married to Lida Caudill and they were blessed with two fine daughters, Faye Smith of Glasgow, Kentucky and Ruth Statler of the state of Washington. After only a few happy years together, the death angel came and took Lida home. When some time had passed Brother Wheeler met and was united in marriage to Hettie Caudill. They spent many happy years together. They had no children but Hettie was a good loving mother to Faye and Ruth. She was a proud grandmother to their children. Both Lida and Hettie left evidence that they were going home to rest. Brother Wheeler sought the offered mercy of God and felt He came to his rescue and granted him a pardon for his many sins. He joined the Doty Creek Church of Old Regular Baptists in the 1940's. After coming to Indiana Brother Wheeler came to the Lone Valley Church in the arm that established the church. By this time he had responded to the call to the ministry and was ordained an elder. He served the Lone Valley Church as Assistant Moderator and Moderator for about 30 years. Brother Wheeler was truly the eye of the church and he was a father to all of us members. His light was noted by his neighbors Wherever he lived. He was greatly gifted in the scriptures and in counseling others. Many churches and people lost a true friend when God called him home on February 13, 1985.Many commented as they came by to pay their respect, "Surely he was a good man." Brother Wheeler left a light for us to follow. He never sought honor or praise but often advised all to "Believe in the light that you may become the children of the light." May God bless his daughters and grandchildren that he was so proud of. Let Dad's God be your God.
