I believe, where you will have no more pain or be sick anymore, so you can be with God forever.

Combs, Johnnie -With a sad and aching heart I will try to write the obituary of my dear beloved husband, Johnnie Combs. Johnnie was the son of Columbus and Cordelia Young Combs; also the grandson of Elder Sam Fisty Combs. Johnnie was born January 23, 1904 died November 8, 1991. Johnnie married Verona Messer. Verona and Johnnie had two daughters and six grandchildren. During their marriage Johnny felt a burden of his sins, after much seeking the Lord he felt the Lord came to his rescue and his burden was gone. Verona passed away in 1960 and Johnnie joined the Old Clear Creek Church in 1964. In 1969 Johnnie and I became friends and got married. Johnnie was a true Christian and loved the old church dearly, never missing a meeting, he went somewhere to church every Sunday as long as he was able. Johnny served the Clear Creek Church for twenty some years as clerk and treasurer. About five months before his death he started going down and was not able to hardly do the little chores and he loved to work. Finally his memory began to fail as most old people does, he could not remember what he did with anything and he wished to be relieved of the church work and was soon replaced. Johnnie went to church on Sunday before his stroke which happened on the 10th night of September, 1991. When he had the stroke, we took him to the hospital where he remained until the Lord called him home on the 8th day of November. I think of the scripture Luke, chapter 24 where Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you." HI go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto my self; that where I am ye may be also." I feel like Johnnie has gone to live in that mansion the Lord went to prepare for his children."

Petrey, Annie-With much sadness and a heavy heart, we will write the obituary of this dear sweet Mother and Sister in the Lord. Annie Petrey was born March 10, 1906 in Knott County, KY. The daughter of the late James Mull ins and Sarah Johnson Mull ins. She was preceded in death by her husband Brad Petrey, one son, Raymond Petrey and one daughter, Alene Petrey. She is survived by four sons: Glen Petrey, Cincinnati, Ohio, Freddie and Willie Petrey, Stanford, KY and Cecil Petrey, McKinney, KY; two daughters: Thelma Rogers. Stanford, KY and Christine Pendygraft, Danville, KY; three grandsons: Larry Rogers, James and Brad Petrey; two granddaughters: Lori Pendygraft and Kathy Petrey; three great grandchildren: Kyle, Evan and Megan Rogers; one brother, Arthur Mull ins of Bushnell, Florida, one sister Liza Denny of Crab Orchard, KY. Mommie said she left the house one day and she didn't feel like she would ever see the house again. She went up in one of the hollows at the back of her home and fell down and prayed and she felt like she was saved there of her sins and had her soul washed in the blood of the Lamb. We had so many good talks about the good things of the Lord, and how she wanted to go to Heaven when she had to leave this old wicked world. We visited her in the hospital many times she would greet us with that beautiful smile. We will always remember that. We feel that Annie has just moved out of the old house of clay and gone to a land that flows with milk and honey. Where no sickness, sorrow, pain or death can ever come. On that great resurrection morning Annie will get up with a new body. It will be changed from natural to a spiritual and join with the soul and go into heaven and will ever be with the Lord. So children, grandchildren and friends I hope you will repent and be born again and meet Jesus up in the air. God stands with an outstretched hand saying come unto me al1 ye ends of the earth and be ye saved for I am God besides me there is no other Saviour. I am sure the Lord will bless all the children and grandchildren for all the kindness that you showed to your mother.

Slone, June- the daughter of the late Marion and Ettie Sparkman SI one, was born October 12, 1934 and departed this life January 9, 1992. She was married to Glen Slone on October 22, 1951.June is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Glen and eight children. Four sons: Jackie, Dale, Gary and Michael; Four daughters: Vonda Murriell, Linda Conley, Peggy Brown and Recilla Fraley. One son, Donnie Dean preceded her In death. Also surviving are 10 darling grandchildren whom she loved as her own, three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, plus seven brothers, six sisters and a stepmother. The Bible says, "Who can find a virtuous woman?" (Proverbs 31:10). We found this woman in June. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She had many heartaches and much sorrow as she toiled in this life, but with her strong faith and her gentleness she was always there for her loved ones to lean on, because she leaned upon her Lord. She sought out wisdom from God to give advice to her children that they might live a good life. Mommy hail so much faith in God and we know if it had been God's will we could have brought her back home. But we feel assured that mommy is in her Heavenly home — asleep in the arms of Jesus and is at perfect peace. She told us about the peace God gave her and that nothing was In the way between her and Heaven. She asked us if we wanted her to be happy, to please let her go on to be with God. It was so hard to give her up but we could not bear to see her suffer anymore. And although our hearts are broken we take comfort in knowing she is at rest. Sleep on dear Mommy and one day after a while we hope to join you over in Heaven's land where the family circle will never be broken again. Sadly missed by her loving Husband and Children.

Smith, Larcena-The obituary of my Mothers Larcena Smith of Emmalena, KY. My Dear Loving Mother, Larcena Smith passed from this life on February 11, 1991. She was ninety-four years old, eight months. Mom lived in the Old Regular Baptist Church 45 years. One of the greatest riches my Mother ever knew was knowing Christ as her Savior. She never had wealth here on this earth, but she had it all in her Lord Jesus Christ. She had many trials and troubles-She lost six children, Mother, Father and Husband,, Carew Smith before her death. She lived in the bad wars of our land. She was a strong and loving woman and my best friend. We were blessed to live together and share each day of our lives for 18 years. Mom was a beautiful rose in her children's life. She was a good old fashioned Christian Mother. Always there to help her family and friends. We told Mom goodbye on February 14, 1991. But only for a short time. I know I will see her again in Heaven someday. Left to mourn her passing are three sons: Ray, Roy and Stan Smith; three daughters: Dorthy Oliver of Emmalena, Martha Purvis and Dora Lee Armstrong, 46 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren. We miss your sweet smiles and voice and hugs here, but we will see you again in heaven. With a sad and broken heart. Nothing can replace the loss in you heart as a friend in mother.

Sturgill, Oscar & Stella-With precious memories we will endeavor to write an obituary of a precious sister and brother. Stella Sturgill was the daughter of the late Jim and Polly Caudill. She was born at Jeremiah, KY on October 19, 1922 and was blessed to live for 69 years, 7 months and 5 days- On Sunday morning, May 24, 1992 she was carried by angels from this old troublesome world to be with Jesus in a land of everlasting peace and joy. Stella is survived by three sisters: Doshie, Dana and Dicy. Two brothers: Tiidon and Melvin; Four sisters: Lida, Ollie, Lona and Annie preceded her in death. Oscar Sturgill was the son of the late Orbin and Mazie Sturgill. He was born In Letcher County KY on January 12, 1914 and was blessed to live for 71 years, 5 months and 8 days. God called him home on May 20, 1985. Oscar is survived by three brothers: Elmer, Jonas and Robert; and three sisters: Eva, Nellie and Anna Lee. One brother, Dewey and two sisters: Stella and Gustavia preceded him in death. They were joined marriage on January 11, 1946 and God blessed them with three sons: Jimmy, Danny and Ronny; four daughters: Glenda, Reva, Donna and Cheryl. Ten grandchildren also survive. After Oscar's death Stella was married to Arlin Blair. Stella and Oscar never attached themselves to any church but they were believers of the faith and practices of the Old Regular Baptist Church. They especially loved to attend the Doty Creek Church. Stella told me, not long before her death, "Doshie, I prayed and prayed for the Lord to forgive me and one night the Lord showed me a straight white line. As I got near the line, our father, Pap, and one of our deceased brothers was on the other side of the line and said to me, "cone on over, we have been waiting for you." She said, "Doshie, 1 feel and believe, with all my heart, that the Lord forgave when I crossed the line and I have a hope of going to heaven when 1 leave this old world." Oscar also had a hope of going to Heaven when departing from this old world. He told Brother Everett Everage, a few weeks before his death, "I got my salvation down on my knees with sorrow and tears." Stella and Oscar were a loving mother and father who lived a simple life. They worked hard to raise their children and never tried to keep up with the ways of the world. Mom and Dad are now resting in peace awaiting their glorious resurrection. Children, always remember the teaching and examples that they set before you. Mom and Dad would want you to love each other and prepare to meet them for a family reunion in Heaven.

When you told Marie that last night you was dying and that you saw Jesus standing at the foot of your bed, I only wish we could have seen him with you. You never seem to be afraid of dying, but you did not want to leave your babies behind because you was afraid they could not handle it, being without their Papie. You made everyone promise they would stand by Mommy and the kids the same way they stood by you. 1 hope they will keep that promise. Daddy we are going to miss you. Having you to talk with us, to help us when we need help. With your own sweet ways you was the best Daddy. The best Pap-paw, the best Father-in-1aw and the best husband in the world.
