Amburgey, Charles--It is with a sad heart I will try to write an obituary of our very dear son-in-law, Charles Amburgey. Charles was born March 28, 1955. He was the baby son of Lonnie and Hattie Amburgey of Pinetop, Kentucky. He departed this life on September 9, 1989, making his stay here on earth 34 years 5 months and 12 days. On March 16, 1980 he was married to Dinah Lee Sturgill. To this union was born two sons Charles Waylon and Dillon Blake. He loved Dinah and the boys so very much. He was so sad when he got sick and had to go to the hospital. He found out in January of 1989 he had Leukemia. He got to come home and stay about two months. He had to go back in the hospital in August. God though the had suffered enough so he called him home. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Dinah, two sons Charles Waylon, and Dillon Blake three brothers Benjamin, William Kay, and Allen all of Pinetop, Kentucky. Five sisters Lottie Jean Amburgey of Pinetop, Ky; Laura Lou Slone of Leburn, Kentucky; Betty Sue Craft of Isom, Kentucky; Veda Carol Craft of Knoxville, Tennessee and Ann Cornett of Hoffman Estates, Ill. Also survived were his in-laws to whom he was so very precious. His father and mother-in-law Alden and Evelyn Sturgill of Leburn, Kentucky; brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Grethel Sturgill of Somerset, Kentucky; Mark and Anissa Sturgill of Lancaster, Kentucky; Terry and Alene Watson of Somerset, Kentucky, a host of nieces and nephews and wonderful friends Charles has been gone from us for five years now, but there is always something to remind us of him. We feel in our hearts he has gone home to be with Jesus. He was a devout member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. When he
left here, even in death he had the most beautiful smile as if he were telling us not to worry about him. He was in a beautiful place
where there was no more pain. Charles we love and miss you, but by the grace of God we will see you again soon.
Written by: his loving mother-in-law, Evelyn Sturgill.

Amburgey, Dillon Blake
-With the help of our dear Lord to steady my hand, I will try to write an obituary of our precious grandson Dillon Blake Amburgey. On a cold snowy night , February 28, 1986 God sent this special little boy to Charles and Dinah Amburgey of Pinetop, Kentucky. He was such joy to all of us for the seven years God loaned him to us. He departed this life on September 6, 1993, leaving behind to mourn his loss his mother and stepfather, Dinah and Mike Thornsberry, his big brother, Charles Waylon Amburgey, all of Mousie, Kentucky, his papaws and grannys, Lonnie and Hattie Amburgey of Pinetop, Kentucky and Alden and Evelyn Sturgill of Leburn, Kentucky. A great-grandma and grandpa Coy and Oma Sturgill of Somerset, Kentucky, and great-grandma Opal Smith of Leburn, Kentucky. Uncles and aunts, Strodie and Lou Slone of Leburn, Ann and Victor Cornett of Hoffman Estates, Ill, Buell and Betty Craft of Isom, Kentucky, Randall and Veda Craft of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ben and Betty Amburgey, William Kay and Linda Amburgey. Allen and Christine Amburgey and Lottie Jean Amburgey, all of Pinetop, Kentucky. Stanley and Grethel Sturgill of Somerset, Kentucky, Terry and Alene Watson of Somerset, Kentucky, and Mark and Anissa Sturgill of Lancaster, Kentucky, a host of loving cousins and one special friend John Blake Sparkman of Mousie, Kentucky. Dillon had that dreaded disease cancer. For the last year he had a very rough time but God knew when he had suffered enough and took his baby back home. For three days before he died he was in and out of like a coma, and when he was awake he would look up or hold his little hands up and say come on. The night before he died he said I am going home tomorrow. At 1:50 p.m the next day God took his pain away and took him home. Dillon was preceded in death by his father Charles Amburgey. I feel in my heart Charles was waiting with open arms for his baby. Thank you God for loaning him and his
daddy to us as long as you did. God willing we will see you both again soon. We love you baby and miss you so very much.

Madden, Willie- With a saddened heart, I will try to write the obituary of my late husband, Elder Willie Madden. He was born in the home of Dock and Susie (Middleton) Madden in Disney, Ky. on October 7, 1914. He passed away at the Medical Center
of Southern Indiana on December 15, 1993. He was 79 years2 months and 8 days old. He married Bessie  Cloud in March of 1932 to this union were born three children Jacqueline, Shirley, and Donall of Otisco, Indiana. He also raised two grandchildren as his own. Sandra (Janey), who preceded him in death at age15. Samantha (Michelle) James who resides in Otisco, Ind. He joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1939. He was ordained June 27, 1942, in the Pilgrim Rest Church in the Indian Bottom Association. At the time of his death Willie\had been a faithful member for 54 years. Willie's whole life was surrounded with  our Lord Jesus Christ. He went far and near across mountains to preach the gospel to the lost and dying world. He preached a strong doctrine throughout his years. His preaching made imprints on many people across the land. Many people to this day recall this man preaching years and years ago in Kentucky. People can recall the sermons he preached. He is remembered as a strong man  true to his belief of the church. Even in his last days in this world he made imprints on the people around him. The doctors, nurses, and especially his family. With the help of the Lord we...were able to keep him at home, the last year he was bedridden. The hospital had nurses and assistants who came to help with him. His children also gave help with him the last year. We will all remember his last words telling us" I want to go home." We know he is at rest with Jesus. We all miss him dearly and still shed tears, but we know he is where he wanted to be and in a much better place than....this old world. We hope to be with him some day.  Willie belonged to the Indian  Bottom Association until 1970. During this time he server as moderator of Hurricane Gap and Mallet Fork. He served as assistant moderator in Whitesburg. In 1952 he moved to Indiana. He continued to travel around the country preaching the gospel. He also served as moderator at Long Valley in Indiana. In 1970 he went into the New Salem Association. At the time of his death he was the moderator of the Little Daniel Church in Otisco, Indiana.  His health failed him the last few  years he was with us, but he remained strong in his faith and doctrine. He continued to believe in a clean church. He was able to go to church until his last two years with us. The last year he was not even able to read his bible. He talked of the church and going home up until the day before his death.   There were times when I believe  he was reliving church meetings. On December 15, with his daughter Jacqueline and granddaughter Michelle, by his side, he passed away from this old world to a better place to be. The most peaceful look came over his tired face. You could feel the Lord's presence in the hospital room that day, he went on to be with Jesus.  He will be remembered by all as a man  of his faith that stood tall and erect for his Lord. He will be remembered by his family as "Pa" a man as plain as the overalls he wore and a man as strong as the gospel he preached. Sleep on my beloved until the last day when Jesus comes in the cloud of his glory. Together in his redeemed home.
