Dixon, Edna M.  I am writing this obituary of my Mother Edna M. Dixon, hoping it will be
acceptable to Dad and the rest of the family. Mom was born in Magoffin County on March 15, 1917 to James and Nancy (Combs) Holiday, and departed this life no November 6, 1981.She leaves to mourn her loss five sons and one daughter, all in Indiana. Steve of Brimfield, Lee of Swan, Larry and Glenn of Kendallville, and Ryan and Dana Homister of Wawaka, Three sons died as infants. Also three brothers, Archie, James and Kiser Holliday of Rome City. Indiana. Two sisters Elsie Messer of Rome City and Wilma J. Johnson of Kendallville, Indiana. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mom joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in 1951, at the Little Home Church in Kentucky, moving her letter to the little Flossie Church in Kendallville Indiana. She loved this old church and the old time shouting meetings, drawing strength and encouragement to strive forward even when the Parkinson's Disease which held her bound for about twenty years.
A few months after Mom died I dreamed twice that I was going around shaking hands and hugging my brothers and sisters, a hand was placed on my shoulder and a voice said, Here is someone I want you to meet" and I turned and there was Mom With the prettiest smile
I have ever seen. To Dad who labored so many years raising his children and taking care of Mom, and whose who long to see Mom again, I believe with all my heart that they must be born again to reach that better country where there will be no more parting.
