OBITUARIES

Craft, John H-The grass withereth and the flower there of  falleth away. So it was on the 3rd day of June, 1947, the life of John H. Craft came to an end. He was born April the 25th, 1880 and was the son of Uncle Dave L. Craft and Aunt Lettie Adams Craft. He lived a useful and influential life and did all he could to make life better for all. Early in life he married Lydia Kincer, daughter of Uncle Bill and Aunt Elizabeth Kincer. This was a pleasant and happy marriage. They were blessed with eight children. Seven still living. In 1936 he professed faith in Christ and was baptized the third Saturday in July, living ever afterwards a faithful Christian life. I believe dad has gone to that place where God shall wipe ,away all tears from his eyes; where there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, crying, nor pain. Yes, Dad has gone on to be with God. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." (II Cor. 5:8).
Written by his son, Dave Craft

Holbrook, Polly Ann-A flower was born, bloomed, and died. The beautiful life of a wonderful mother has ended here on earth to add another flower to bloom in God's wonderful Heaven. She entered this world on September 17, 1876, and departed August 10, 1947. She was wed to Will O. Holbrook October 4, 1895, and to this union was born four, children: Nelson, deceased, Fred, Enoch, and Hassel. She lived a life of giving and helping others. Never thinking of her own health and safety she was ready day or night, summer or winter, to give aid and comfort to some one who was in need or sorrow. She gave her all to help mankind: neighbor, friend, or stranger. She turned no one away from her door without helping him one way or other. She was a faithful attendant to the Thornton Baptist Church, and joined this church September, 1941.To mourn her death she left her faithful and loving companion, three children, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six sisters, five brothers, and countless number of friends. No one can take the place that she left vacant, but she answered the call of her Savior.
Heaven now retains our treasure,
Earth her lonely casket keeps,
And the sunbeams long to linger,
Where our darling Mother sleeps.
We felt lonely, oh so lonely
When our Mother went away,
But we hope by God's great mercy
That we'll meet again some day.

Webb, Flanery & Nancy Webb-It is with a sad and aching heart I try to write an obituary of my dear Daddy and Mother, Flanery and Nancy Webb, who Jesus called to Heaven so close together; just three weeks apart. It left our home so sad and lonely, and left five girls and three boys. They lived a good Christian life and belonged to the old Regular Baptist Church for several years. Daddy was 75 years of age and Mother was 66 years of  age.
Our home is sad and lonely,
While grief fills our heart,
I pray we children will meet
Them with Jesus and ne'er more part
