His father-in-law David Caudill was killed by a
train while working on a trestle near Blackey. Billy
later owned a general store in the town of Blackey.
After my father returned from WWII he became a
minister and he became acquainted with may families
in Letcher co. That relationship continued until my
family move to Ohio in the late 1950's.
R. B. had been married previous to his marriage
to Sarah.
He fathered several offspring from that
marriage. Sarah had previously been married to
Rudy Draughn. There were no offspring from that
marriage.
R. B. and "Aunt Sarah" lived in Letcher Co.
and the town of Blackey. R. B. Caudill was a
great history resource and the person with
the most knowledge on the relationships and
history of the families or that region. R.
B. Caudill was an active member of the old
Frog Pond Baptist near Letcher Ky.
R. B. and Sarah lived in their home next to
the C. B. Caudill store. As a young boy I
remember the great front porch and the sweet
smell of the Mimosa trees that surrounded
their home. Fond memories. The photos were
taken in Letcher Co.
After R. B. died Aunt Sarah came to Ohio to
live with my family in the early 1960's.
