Does anyone know anything at all about a Seal-Sealey-Celia Hurt who lived in Knott County Kentucky and was suppose to have died there about 1903? She may have had several children who went to live with different families. Some went by the last name of Hurt and some by Ritchie-Richie. Some of the children\'s names may be Thomas, Joe, Mary Jane, Polly, Lucinda, etc. May have some relationship with a John Mullins, an Auston Ritchie. A Charles Madden may have took care of her and her children while she was sick as he was given money by the county to do so in 1902. Anyone with any information at all about any of these people please email me. Thank you |

I'm interested in "Bad" Lewis Hall and the Steel Murders, but could not access any information under that heading listed on your site. I have been able to find a few newspaper articles that give brief accounts of the shootout that occurred in McDowell County WV in May, 1891. Some photos of bodies on your site might be of two Steels and Lewis Hall, Jr. or of three Steels. Samuel Steel, Hiram Steel and possibly Samuel C., Samuel\'s son were killed in a shootout with Bad Lewis and his son. Newspaper accounts vary, but I believe three Steel\'s were killed and one Hall, Lewis, Jr. I would welcome any information about this. I have seen reference to two trials in which Lewis Hall apparently was acquitted. Accounts I have seen say that the fight began during a court hearing or that it was \"over whiskey.\" I have a special interest because Samuel Steel was my great-grandfather. |

Does anyone have the birth and death date of Lucinda Madden Francis? Any information would be helpful. She was the daughter of Arch Madden and Sylvi Everidge. She married Harlan Francis in 1903 and they had 7 children. My grandmother was Madge Francis Murphy born in 1912. She would have passed sometime around the late 1920s because Nell was born around 1924. Thanks. |

He told of teaching school in three different 1-room schools is Kentucky; I\'m not sure in which County these were located. I have been searching for information on my gggrandfather William R. Craft; I recently received information that he was the son of Nancy Holbrook's) and Nelson Roe Craft, born December 19, 1853, in Letcher County. They apparently were never married. I found a Letcher Co. birth record with the father\'s name not listed. Subsequently I found a Floyd County census record listing Nancy, her husband Winston Gipson and son William. My gggrandfather married Jane Wallen and named two of his sons Nelson Roe and Winston, so it appears to be accurate information. I have found numerous Knott Co. records of my grandfather William, my ggrandfather Winston (married Suzy Slone), Winston\'s brother Roe (Nelson Roe) and others; but very little on William. Does anyone have information regarding Nancy & Nelson or William? Or any part of this Craft family? |
