LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
of
WILLIAM MARTIN
In
the name of God, Amen
I William Martin of Floyd County and State of Kentucky
Being weak in body Be? in my perfect sences. Thanks be to
almighty God for the same do make ordain and appoint this my last
will and Testament. First I will my soul to God who first give
it hoping through the meritorious righteousness of Jesus Christ to
be saved from all sins and saved eternally in heaven. My body
I bequeath to the earth from whence it was taken in full assurance
of its resurrection amongst the Just at the last day. As for
my worldy Estate which God hath endowed me with I will and bequeath
it in the following manner (to whit)
Item: First I will that all my just Debts that I owe to any person be punctually paid by Executors here in after Named And for the purpose of carrying this my last will and Testament into compleat effect agreably to thee
Item 2nd I will to my beloved wife Susannah all my whole estate
consisting of horses cattle hogs sheep plantation utensils house
hole
furniture debts and accounts and all singullar my goods and chattles
after my debts are paid as aforesaid during her life time to be
disposed
of at her pleasure as she may think proper and at the death of my
beloved wife Susannah all the estate that she may have in her
possession
after paying all debts that she may owe if any to be sold by my
executors and equally divided between all my heirs that may be then
living.
And for the purpose of carrying this my last will and Testament into
compleat afect ageably to thee
The true intent and meaning here of
I do by these presence make and appoint David Martin and Joel Martin
my true and Lawful Executors of this my last will and Testament.
In Witness where of I have here unto set my hand and afixes my seal
this Eighteenth day of June one Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventeen
